SALSA CLASSES TO DEBUT IN REDDITCH
Chicago Rock Cafe is bringing an exotic taste of Latin America to Redditch by introducing the first weekly salsa classes of its kind in the area. Professional salsa dance instructor, John-James, will be launching the absolute beginner’s classes on Tuesday 27th May at Chicago Rock Cafe, starting at 8pm.
Salsa originates from a blend of Cuban and Puerto Rican dance styles, and its combination of infectious music with easy to learn moves have taken our country by storm. As the craze for the traditionally Latin American pursuit sweeps the UK, the Chicago classes are tipped to become among the hottest in the Midlands.
General Manager at Chicago Rock Cafe, Dave Allen, said: “We wanted to introduce a themed night that would include everybody, and salsa classes can do just that. Whether you want a new and exciting way to keep fit, a chance to meet new people, or simply an excuse to get out the house and learn a new skill, salsa classes allow you to do all these things.”
John-James, founder of New Salsa-Salsa, has firsthand knowledge and understanding of the dance, since teaching in Latin American countries Cuba and Mexico. It is the carefree and relaxed attitude towards dancing that John would like to bring to his classes.
The weekly classes every Tuesday will commence with a fun 45 minute lesson, followed by a ‘New Salsa-Salsa’ social freestyle, where participants are encouraged to try out there new found skills.
Dave Allen continued: “It is so exciting that we will be the first venue in Redditch to launch this idea, and I have no doubt the night will be a hoot for everyone who comes along. With John’s unrivalled expertise in the world of salsa, we intend to use his contacts to ensure regular demonstrations and performances for our participants to enjoy. Who knows, there may even be some prizes and free classes to be won...”
