Lineup and details for Mrs Mangle Presents.... on Friday 7th May 2010
Arrrgggghhh we've created a monster....
It’s amazing how things can spiral and take on a life of their own. What started as the simple idea of a party for Mrs Mangle's birthday, has now transformed into an evening of unadulterated bass.
In hopefully (fingers crossed) the first of many nights, Mrs Mangle invites you to come share celebrations while having your ears assaulted by some of the dirtiest tunes known to man.
And who better to lead such assault, than none other than Stench man.
Legend goes…
Stenchman was created in 1985 by rogue scientists trying to splice the genes of a Friesian cow and a severely impaired young gypsy. The results were controversial to say the least and subsequently the creature they had created escaped, taking with him all of their electronic equipment and pharmaceuticals. After this, sightings of the strange being became infrequent for a while, word had it that he had built himself a small hut out of discarded batteries and unicorn hair and had locked himself inside with the aforementioned electrical equipment and pharmaceuticals, and was using these to produce a sound called “urgh”. He had a passion for deep rumbling bass and strange wobbling mid sounds, the frequencies of which would often cause involuntary lactation. After a few years honing his techniques, he decided to come out to graze on the fresh pastures of the outside world, although he refused to be seen in public without a mask, due to a self consciousness about the udders attached to his face. Stenchman is now apparently inflicting his audio assaults on unsuspecting ravers worldwide, making people dance in an animalistic nature to his twisted rhythms and humorous samples
Not only that, we’ve managed to drag Dubba Jonny (plus Drum kit) up for the night! A 2 piece dubstep act comprising of Dubba the Slut on drums and Producer/DJ Jonny Gash.
Having only formed in November 2009, the duo has already left their mark on the underground dubstep scene with a series of massive online hits and plugs from some of the biggest names in dubstep promotion. Dubba Jonny play as a live band, mixing DJ'ing with live electronics and live drumming, headlining clubs across the country to great responses
Next is a new addition to the evening’s entertainment, local upcoming Dubstep DJ ' Mr Mac'
Mrs Mangle had the pleasure of seeing this guy backing up Datisk a few weeks ago and he absolutely smashed it, so when we heard he wanted to get involved (and also that it’s his birthday on the night) we couldn’t say no. Having been on lineups supporting the likes of Chasing Shadows, Flux Pavilion, Coki, Cotti, Chef, Cookie Monsta and of course Datsik, Mr Mac is certainly a welcomed addition to the evening celebrations!
Last but not least is Mrs Mangle’s favourite resident support “Who Shot JR?”
Having spent the last 12 months doing a few select nights in and around Manchester, Who Shot JR? Has an obsession for filth. Definite party starter, with his twist of electro, dubstep and all things bass driven, this guy is one to look out for.
