The stages all seemed well organised with quality PA systems, a good variety of bands running to schedule, but all except the World stage were situated a long way from the main drag of the festival & were somewhat less well attended that they could have been, especially after 5pm when the rest of the festival was winding down. Treebeard were due to play the folk stage at 6.30 & we were worried that each preceeding band seemed to be playing to fewer & fewer people, but fortunately there was a brief resurgence just before we went on, helped by previous band Mark Block & The Breezes sticking around & even dancing! We played our regular festival set of Train, Barrister & The Bargast, Tam Lin, Over The Hills, Ace of Spades, Russian Medley, Farewell to Ireland and One Day Like This/Hey Jude. It all went well & wew were even brought beer by audience members taking pity on our dry state. All in all a good start for live music at Grimsthorpe & hopefully they can build on it for next year!
