Saint-Saens finely wrought and mellifluous Cello Concerto is played by the always captivating Natalie Clein, before Tchaikovskys turbulent, tortured but finally triumphant Fourth Symphony propels the evening to a brilliant conclusion. As part of its University Residency the Orchestra will open then concert with the world premiere of City of Trees, a composition selected for performance following the 2011 Composers Workshop.
