Lineup and details
The Swines
Formed from members of two of Nottingham's favourite underground bands, The Arcane & The Bets.
Both these bands met and gigged together on Nottinghams underground
live circuit and managed to generate a significant fan base and live
following. From the very first meeting during a battle of the bands competition
early on in their live careers, the rival groups developed strong
mutual respect for one anothers music, and fought it out like
gladiators in a hotly contested final showdown.
The results of that contest only stiffened the resolve of both
groups to carve out their niche, and when members of the the two groups
finally came together a year or so later to form The Swiines, they hit
the ground running with enough song writing and gig experience behind
them to create a instant buzz in the rehearsal studio. After only three months as a band, that buzz and excitement and has
lead to the creation of enough new and original material to begin
gigging with a strong set of songs and a powerful live performance.
The Swiines are currently gigging at a venue near you and recording
their first demos to take them to the ears of their potential fans and
record label executives. A combination of rawness, dirty sounds,
passion and energy is what The Swiines are all about.
Dirty Kanvus are a psychedelic acid rock jam band from Nottigham. They create a fascinating musical landscape that borrows from The Doors, steals from White Stripes and makes up the rest out of fiery rock riffs, spaced out jams and twisted poetry. The band are building a strong local buzz in Nottingham and have been featured on BBC Nottingham. Dirty Kanvus' recent EP titled Lets Make Our Getaway was produced by The Animal Farm.

The EP met with warm critical reception coupled with radio exposure and sold out its original run within ten weeks. A small line-up change in early 2008 saw Dragonflies Draw Flames frontman Simon Curd join the band.
