SUNDOWN FESTIVAL
Sat 1st - Sun 2nd September 2012
Following the huge success of last years inaugural Norfolk Spectacular music festival, the renamed Sundown Festival has revealed the first round of confirmed artistes will include headliners Olly Murs and Chase & Status.
The East of Englands most progressive live-music event of the summer, over Saturday 1 & Sunday 2 September at the Norfolk Showground, is set to be even bigger and, in addition to the main and arena stages, will incorporate a series of after-hours warehouse parties so when the sun goes down, the night heats up.
Opening the Saturday main-stage event will be the likes of Pixie Lott, Wiley, Alexandra Stan, Stooshe, and many more yet to be announced, all capped off with a headline performance by the one and only Dizzee Rascal.
Sunday nights main-stage line-up will include a DJ set by Radio 1s Zane Lowe and performances by Katy B, Ms Dynamite, Dot Rotten, Sub Focus and many more, with a headline return to the event by the only act to have also performed last year, back by huge demand, Chase & Status.
Chase & Status return to the event for the second year, back by unrelenting pressure of demand from last years festival-goers having totally rocked the entire showground to its core with tracks such as Let You Go, End Credits (which was originally written for the movieHarry Brown, starring Michael Caine and Ben Drew, aka Plan B, who also featured on the original), Hypest Hype and Blind Faith.
The new Sundown Festival name has been chosen to reflect the timing of the event as one of the last big open-air summer festivals in the music calendar. The benefit of earlier sunsets will be utilised for maximum effect, with stunning levels of production assured. The name also embodies a fresh approach by the organisers to create an improved festival experience in every area and new additions to the management team, who have previously produced major events on behalf of Cream and Ministry of Sound, further underline the festivals commitment to delivering a truly world class event.
Sundown Festival spokesman, Dion Clements comments: The exciting mix of these chart-topping, urban-tipped and dance acts is just the start of what will be a massive line-up of the music worlds hot talents, in an event that is expected to firmly place the Sundown Festival on the annual, live-music event calendar. Together with the new name truly appropriate for the timing of the festival towards the end of summer the additional organisers and top line-up, were opening up the event to people from right across the UK as well as the fans who supported last years event on a massive scale.
