NEWCASTLE RECEIVES £4M NIGHTCLUB
A £4m refurbishment to the former Ikon & Diva nightclub on Newbridge Street will dramatically transform the venue to become an ultimate music and entertainment destination in the city expected to feature performances from world class DJs, personal appearances and ultimately an unrivalled music experience.
Opening to the public on Friday 17th November, Liquid & Envy is set to offer customers “a complete music sound and light experience, the biggest named DJs and first class entertainment as well as a stylishly elite venue dedicated to two age groups” says new general manager, Paul McGregor.
The 1750 capacity Liquid will target anyone over 18 years old while Envy (450) will cater for the over 23s and more mature clientele in Newcastle offering a trendy and relaxed club to socialise and party to tunes from all eras.
Envy’s subtle lighting and tones together with its chic contemporary design and furnishings, create a desirable venue aimed to give an older crowd a trendy and sophisticated place to unwind. Its unique design has been tailored specifically to encourage people to socialise with friends while in the comfort of the luxurious seating areas or take to the dance floor and let the DJ’s selection of party tunes have customers in a spin.
Thanks to a UV stamp system, Envy customers will be able to flow freely into Liquid where the contrast in design and surroundings immediately generates a shot of energy. Liquid’s predominantly white décor, which has become a trademark for the brand, allows powerful illuminations and light shows to enhance different ‘moods’ that work simultaneously with the resident DJ’s selection of music. Liquid is undoubtedly a more upbeat venue playing an eclectic mix of commercial dance, RnB, indie and the most popular chart tracks guaranteed to lift the vibe of the room. The Liquid room will be dominated by an impressive 360° projection and video surround capable of displaying ‘total immersion’ music videos and stunning visual effects.
Both venues feature state-of-the-art sound and lighting facilities, which are among the best in the world and help create an ambience like no other explains Paul: “There is no where in the region that can offer what the new Liquid Envy will. We have the best facilities and the ability to bring customers top DJs, PAs and entertainment from all over the world. We are investing heavily into the entire Liquid Envy experience to give our customers something to shout about and go away thinking that there’s nowhere that does it as big or as better than Liquid Envy.”
Within the £4m investment is a new VIP room which will be used by visiting celebrities, performers, special guests and the clubs V.I.P’s . This exclusive area will also be available for private hire, “Ideal for Christmas parties and special occasions” Paul adds. “We will be offering a variety of packages for local businesses wanting to make the right impression, give a certain image to their clients or possibly to reward their staff.”
Over 100 jobs will be created for the opening of the new venue, which includes anything from glass collectors to managerial roles. Liquid & Envy is now looking to recruit staff at all levels so to join the team and be part of this exciting venture visit www.liquidclubs.com
