Lineup and Details for Cream Ibiza Classics Tour on Fri 3rd August 2012
Then we thought, since this is Newcastle's first ever Official Cream Ibiza Classic Party, let's get K Klass on to drop some kicking old school beats! So thats what we did!
Also we have Newcastle's very own Home Spun boys to help keep things rocking!
Danny Rampling has been a regular headliner at Cream since its inception in the early 90s. A true pioneer and an integral part of dance music culture. In 1986, Danny discovered the intoxicating Balearic sound of a little known Spanish island called Ibiza after a trip with Paul Oakenfold and Nicky Hollaway. Little did he know that bringing this back to the UK with a few others would ...spiral a global dance culture thats showing no signs of abating.
Another Cream regular from the 90s and one of the more omnipresent remixing teams on the British house scene, K-Klass emerged in the late '80s, founded by Andy Williams and Carl Thomas after the demise of their previous band Interstate (who had played with 808 State on the early house scene). K-Klass' single "Rhythm Is a Mystery" reached the Top Five and they began their continual residence in the club charts with later singles "Don't Stop," "Let Me Show You" and "What You're Missing," from their debut album, 1993's Universal.
D.J. party man(iac), legend. One of the old school of DJs, there during the early days of house music, he has become somewhat of an elder statesman of the scene been most places, done most things, just about survived to tell the tale which is exactly what he will be doing when joining us on 3rd August.
Early gigs came at the almighty Sunrise raves in the U.K., some of the notorious, infamous raves that attracted major press headlines at the end of the 80s. After playing to thousands at such an early point in his career, the next point for a young DJ at that time was Ibiza, a place that helped shape the reputation of Alex in several ways. After holding a residency at Amnesia, he then became the resident at the newly opened Space. After working there for a few months, a moment of inspiration changed the clubbing world. Alex decided to put some decks behind the bar of the Space chill-out area and to call it The Full Moon Terrace Bar. You know the rest from there. Alex began to get worldwide bookings, and soon became one of the headliners for most of the major house nights in and around the U.K!
