Grammy award winning, Hollywood starlet Shelby Lynne is heading to Middlesbrough Town Hall Crypt on Thursday 23 February for a rare and intimate outing.
The gig is part of her solo acoustic tour, and will be one of only four UK dates.
Lynne started out in the music industry in 1989, and in 1990 won the New Female Vocalist of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards. However, her real breakthrough came 10 years later with the release of I Am Shelby Lynne, the success of the record lead to her Grammy triumph, winning Best New Artist, in 2001.
She has gone on to release a stream of critically acclaimed LPs, including a Dusty Springfield tribute and two Top 10s Love, Shelby and Identity Crisis. Now touring with her latest release Revelation Road, on which she wrote and played all of the music for, Lynne continues to be a prolific and well-respected artist across the globe.
Not just a singing sensation, Lynne has also cut her cloth as an actress making her acting debut in the Oscar winning Johnny Cash bio Walk The Line, as Cashs mother Carrie.
In her first trip to Middlesbrough Town Hall, and her only Northern date on the tour, Shelby will perform tracks from her latest album, as well as a smattering of old favourites such as Gotta Get Back, Killin Kind and Leavin.
This is a rare opportunity to see one of Americas best-loved talents, up close and personal.
