On Friday 27 July, the THiEVES are very proud to announce the presence of one of our favourite international artists. Some know him by his alias Fantastic Man. We know him as Mr Mic Newman.

Held at Manchester's brand new venue; Underdog (Underneath Black Dog Ballroom, Oxford Road), fully equipped with a FUNKTION ONE soundsystem and support from Development Music's Tomson and New Zealander Logan Baker, we truly are in for summer spectacular!

The work of both Mic Newman and Fantastic Man reveal a raw talent to spread across a number of genres.

Hailing from Melbourne and family of musicians his focus on electronic music has gained star status in his home country, where along with artists such as Lewie Day aka Tornado Wallace they have put Australia firmly on the house radar with an ever expanding scene developing.

Key releases and remixes on major players in Europe have meant the transition to the international audience has been equally impressive. Beginning with a remix of Booka Shade on their acclaimed Get Physical imprint in 2009, future hits followed, most notably Sizzled Sally EP on UK label murmur Records further enhancing Mics trademark style.

Keen to explore a different side to his talents, Mic has launched an illusive alias, Fantastic Man; which has so far seen success on Wolf Music, Melbourne Deepcast, and his own Plastic Fantastic EP on Detroit label Kolour LTD. The latter reaching the illustrious number 1 position on Junos top sellers chart.

Further releases on Tsuba, 20:20 visions sub-divisional; Fina Records Freerange, as well as his Recorded In The Garage EP on his return to murmur Records have ensured a committed following from tastemakers and DJs alike.

We catch the Fantastic Man as his ever-impressive 'It's Essential EP' on brooklyn-based label Let's Play House is climbing the Deep House charts.
