Delphic have quickly risen to the top of the city’s live music scene and then far outgrown it, winning huge acclaim on either side of the Atlantic for their debut album Acolyte, including the huge singles Counterpoint and This Momentary. Their music draws equally from the worlds of dance music and rock, so it’s fitting that they are joined by several artists on the night who have successfully combined the two disparate sounds.
Fellow Mancunian favourites The Whip will be supporting, showing why they won such acclaim for their live show, with singles such as Trash and Divebomb transformed into epic anthems. Up and coming four piece Fenech Soler, who recently toured with Groove Armada and featured on their recent album, will also be playing, showcasing their unique blend of pop, disco and guitars. The hugely promising new Parisian duo Jamaica, fresh from completing their debut album with Justice’s Xavier De Rosnay will be appearing, their catchy disco pop winning them fans across Europe. Legendary Glaswegian duo Optmio Espacio will be coming in for one of their famously eclectic and original sets, as will WHP resident Jamie XX and Foals, who recently released their excellent Total Life Forever album.
