Lineup and Details for Marcel Dettman, Levon Vincent, John Talabot, Falty DL. FE W/selective Hearing and idiosync on Sat 19th May 2012
On Saturday 19 May Manchester promoters Selective Hearing & Idiosync will be hosting a late night event with some of the most cutting-edge names in techno, deep house and electronica as part of FutureEverything festival 2012.
We are pleased to Present;
Marcel Dettmann: Marcel Dettmann was born in the GDR in 1977 and was raised from within this new East-German youth culture. His music has been described as techno 'from the dark side'. He has DJ'd since 1994 including an unbroken residency at Berlins Ostgut Ton/Berghain since 1999. Dettmann became a producer and remixer in 2006. Beside Ostgut Ton, his self-run label MDR is based on ideals of no compromise, independence, and facilitating the quest for the optimal track. He also plays at Berlins Technosaur Hard Wax which supports his continuous exploration of electronic music development.
Levon Vincent: Cutting his teeth as a DJ in New York the 90s, Levon Vincent witnessed first hand the impact of former Mayor Rudy Giulianis zero tolerance policy on New Yorks nightlife, and saw his gigs and hence his livelihood dry up overnight. Vincent went back to school, in his words, to take a negative and turn it into a positive, and devoted himself to learning the many complexities of music theory and production. In 2008 his star began to rise, with the first signs coming not from NYC but London, where his tracks drew raucous receptions from the Fabric crowd.This is his first appearance at FutureEverything.
John Talabot: Enigmatic Spanish DJ and producer John Talabot is known for his sun-soaked/washed-out, blissful, house music. He lives in Barcelona, is friends with Delorean, and has released a couple of singles on Permanent Vacation. He has been remixed The XX, Glasser, and Teengirl Fantasy. Talabot released the Families EP, via Young Turks.
Falty DL: FaltyDL is New York's Drew Lustman. His nostalgic tracks are immersed in the old New York and Chicago garage sound but still create a more subtle/futuristic Big Apple version mashing together influences from hip hop, dubstep, garage, soul, jungle and electronica.
