bombhead1987 Offline Points:20 Posts: 1 | Remake Remodel Overall rating: Remake Remodel = an education in the finest rock n roll around? this i how i have recommended the night to everyone who has asked. There are a few nights in and around manchester very similar the likes of Revolver at The Roadhouse on monday nights and The Castle, Oldham every friday and saturday play a similar style of music but it is all the commercial rock n roll music that we all know and love. The difference's between theses fantastic nights and Remake Remodel, is firstly they dont play the typical hits from bands like The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie to name a few, but they play album tracks that the punters wouldn't automatically choose if they were sat at home listening to music, which is great so many people have asked the DJ what album is House Of The Holy, Led Zep is from, and the week later they have come back having bought said album. Secondly they are keen to introduce bands that are a little more underground, so to speak, the likes of Tame Impala, B.R.M.C. The Kills, and pre El Camino album Black Keys. all fantastic bands that are not played on any radio station during the mainstream times. This with the fantastic setting that south is, the dingy underground warehouse looking building with its unpolished feel, its alike the old new york underground rock n roll clubs of the past. with the added accidental feature of the scaffolding in the smoking terrace, which has become a massive talking point for new comers. it all feels like rock n roll should dark, dirty, sweaty and industrial. a fantastic night at south and for me and many Remake Remodel goers, and i quote "THE BEST NIGHT IN MANCHESTER" | ||||||||||||||

 funckyD Offline Points:18 Posts: 1 | South's Got The Love Overall rating: I went to this event alone and I'm a bit past it but I've wanted to go to South for sometime for the music and it didn't dissapoint. The venue is a bit plain and there's no nooks and crannies to hide in if you're feeling a bit intimidated like I was. The people seemed friendly enough though and there was no hassle. Clint introduced a few loved up couples who had met at South which was sweet. Like I said, I went for the music and I got the odd boogie in - I think my old hips could just about take it !! Enjoyed it and I would recommend it to other people. | ||||||||||||||
