Purveyor of deep, warm and sometimes dubby house music Nottingham based DJ / producer Nick Lawson tirelessly devotes himself to the endless possibilities of electronic music. His meticulous approach to DJing and production has seen him hone a versatile style that explores the deepest realms of house and techno.

Nicks early releases on Romulus Schwarzs Shrink and SheWolf Music imprints saw him develop a sound that was both organic and nostalgic. His low-slung groover Daphadandilly achieved wide support, despite being released only digitally, and has since appeared on Matt Tolfreys mix compilation for 1trax. Nicks collaborative works with Matthew Burton have seen them both explore different corners of house music, breaking the typical methodologies they normally adhere to with their solo efforts. Their first two releases together, Mischievous Mustache (2009) and Playdo (2010), appeared on MultiVitamins and Leftroom offshoot Leftd respectively.

After both featuring on another Leftd release with Snuff It (2011), the pair continued with their warehouse style in the shape of the moody Tech House track Gruff It (2011), which was quickly picked up and released on Seth Troxlers Visionquest. Other releases in 2011 included Take Me Away on Fear of Flying, another collaboration with Matthew, and Ma Feelinz on Morris Audio.

In 2009, Nick broke out of the studio to form the notorious party Busta Groove with Matthew Burton, which in various locations across Europe, including Berlin, London and Nottingham, has played host to Seth Troxler, Kassem Mosse, Giles Smith and Ethyl amongst others. Aside from Busta Groove, Nick also currently holds a residency at the Wherehouse? in Nottingham where he shares his own style of deep yet groove-laden house and techno, showing he is just as at home playing a carefully crafted warm up set as he is at knocking out a more energetic peak timer.

Diligent and passionate, Nick continues to pursue his sensibilities for deep music, constantly developing and refining his sound, and his busy touring schedule is evidence of this.
