After a summer away we are back and ready to kick off the new academic year with a bang. Our freshers week show always showcases the best in new talent at an affordable price. This year we return to Sankeys. Last time we did a show at Sankeys we had The Count + Sinden headlining with their live show touring to promote their huge single beeper, with support from some semi known Italians, Crookers! Just over 2 years on, we have ha...d some amazing parties and Sankeys has been crowned number 1 club in the world. We expect another huge show.

With 3 rooms to play with at Sankeys we are able to offer 5 big acts with releases on some of the hottest labels on the planet which span across several genres. On top of that we have some of the best local talent providing the support. The acts we have booked for this night may not be the biggest bookings we have had at P&P, but they are all definitely stars of the future.

Glimpse (live) (Cadenza / Crosstown Rebels / Planet E)
Fresh from his summer residency at Space in Ibiza this guy has just released his debut album on Crosstown Rebels. Before that he has had releases on just about every decent techno label about. In 2009 Glimpse was nominated for producer of the year in DJ magazine and player of the year in IDJ. This all underlines the quality of his productions, but in a club environment his live set takes him to a whole new level. Expect big things from Glimpse.

Harvard Bass (Sound Pellegrino / Turbo / Dim Mak)
Making his Manchester debut coming all the way from California. At the age of 21 he is making waves throughout his native America. He's had releases on some major electro labels such as Dim Mak, Fools Gold, Turbo and Kitsune, and remixed the likes of Count + Sinden, Zombie Nation and Laidback Luke. Expect heavy bass and in your face electro.

Julian Jeweil (Cocoon / Plus 8)
Julian has enjoyed the most productive year of his life. In March he had releases on Cocoon and Richie Hawtins Plus 8 labels, then in June a release on Popof's Form label. That in itself shows recognition from some of the biggest players in the techno scene. With a Moby remix coming soon 2010 is only going to get bigger for this guy.

Solo (Dirtybird / Southern Fried)
A young London based Italian, he has labeled his style as midget house. Gaining support from Claude Von Stroke with a release on his Dirtybird label, remixing Crookers and just being named as a resident at Fabric in London has capped an excellent year for Solo. His sound will definitely get you dancing!

Curious George & The Agent
Local Manchester lads opening the night up in the main room. These guys have been playing around the local scene for a while now and recently got a mention in DJ Mag as a killer sound for their remix of The XX - Crystalised.

Spektrum: dubstep

Bar9 (Audio Phreaks / Z Audio)
UK dubstep production duo who are known for some of the heaviest drops and twisted vibes in the scene. They have supplied the dubstep scene with timeless tracks and are still producing top hits! Including their huge remix of Example. A great headline act with amazing local support to bring the sound of dubstep to P&P for the first time.

Rich Reason (Hit&Run / Warehouse Project / Ape)
We have done some joint events with Rich and his Hit&Run crew in the past, so he was the first person we asked to get involved when we decided to have a bit of dubstep in Spektrum. Resident at the ever growing Hit&Run, Ape and The Warehouse Project. He is the perfect support act upstairs.

Murkage Cartel
Murkage have been smashing their weekly party for 3 years now, each year its been getting better and better. Another local act we are glad to have on board for this night. Murkage Dave will be sticking around to host the night after their set too.

Subwoofah Souljas
The Sub-Woofah Souljahs will be representing their local night which specialises in Jungle, Drum & Bass & Dubstep. They have just seen an awesome first birthday after over 20 successful events throughout various clubs in Fallowfield, Manchester, Leeds and Blackpool.
