When we started CONTORT YOURSELF we never dreamt that we’d find ourselves here, celebrating the pinnacle of 4 years… we have to say a massive thank you to everyone who’s ever attended and everyone who has ever played, its you that has made us what we are!

So with this in mind we’ve lined up a bruiser of a guest to help us kick in the back doors off our 5^th year, none other than RITON himself! He’s been on the cards for a long while and  im sure you’ll agree, just the man for the job. Joining our headliner as ever will be our resident Djs: HumanMan, Oldboy, Will Tramp!, Gez Magus, Team Yeah and Natalie Esquire dropping all the hits that we’ve rinsed over the past 4 years in a retrospective all out megamix special.

I know we always say it… but this truly will be BIG!

ARTIST PROFILE:

Riton aka Henry Smithson is hailed as one of the UK’s brightest talents. Whether it’s his pulsating DJ sets, genre crashing team ups ( Gucci Soundsystem, Die Verboten) or the multitude of original productions and remixes under his belt, Riton has gathered accolades from every corner.

Knowing no boundaries, his enchanting remix touch has breathed 4/4 life into artists as diverse as The Mystery Jets to Robbie Williams.

Starting his own ‘Switch Recordings’ after graduating from University, he subsequently signed for Manchester label ‘Grand Central’ which spawned the debut album ‘Beats du Jour’, and it’s follow up, ‘Homies and Homos’.

Not content with providing the soundtrack to the nation’s nights out, 2008 release ‘Eine Kleine Nacht Musik’ was a more down tempo homage to his Krautrock influences, aptly showcasing another side to Riton’s prolific musical creativity.

The second half of 2009 saw another stunning collaboration, this time with Primary 1 on ‘Who’s There’ (released on Erol’s Alkan’s Phantasy Sound label), and a slew of incredible remixes – his take on Kid Sister’s ‘Right Hand Hi’ is currently causing chaos in clubs. All ensuring that Riton’s name continues to be on the nation’s conscience, garnering new fans from all sides of the musical spectrum.

2010 looks to be his most exciting year to date with his Carte Blance project alongside DJ Mehdi, the awesome Computer Juice with Seiji as well as further production with Primary 1.
