Lineup and details for New Revolution Presents: I Am Austin on Wednesday 29th February 2012
New Revolution Presents: I Am Austin
I Am Austin are Adam Hughes - a bass player with an amp setup so filthy it should have an 18 rating attached to it, and David Mitchell - a drummer/vocalist who hits his kit so ferociously, youd think it would have somehow wronged him in the past! A two piece, with some freshly squeezed electro synth to boot. I Am Austin describe themselves as "The world's smallest band, with the biggest noise" - a mixture of future blues, dance, rock, and garage-punk. They hail from Connah's Quay in North Wales, achieving many great things in such a short space of time - such as tour support for Noisettes, and making their debut television appearance on Channel 4's Evo Music Rooms (alongside the likes of Graham Coxon, Darwin Deez and Bombay Bicycle Club). They also performed at Radio 1's Big Weekend in 2010, with an absolutely breathtaking performance that Radio 1's Huw Stevens described as "Vicious and amazing!" With powerhouse songs such as "Stripper" and "L.A.F.S", this small (but perfectly formed), stunningly different electro, dance, rock duo have managed to create something unique - producing a sound that merges the sexiness of rock 'n' roll, with the dirtiness of drum and bass.

GLASS JUNGLE:
Formerly called Force Of Habit, Glass Jungle are a hot unsigned from Stockport, England. They formed in mid-2009 but never really got a headstart through the numerous line-up changes. Now in 2011 they are hitting the scene hard and have a rapidly growing fanbase, as well as being renowned for their energetic live performances. Through constantly writing new songs they have honed their style and have lots of hooks in the music, to which they have received fantastic feedback at gigs.
SAM SMITH & COMPANY:
Born with frustration in a Manchester satellite town, Sam Smith is a solo artist with a difference.
The lyrical content of Sam Smith is modern, unique and straight to the point (and surprisingly clean).
VIGILANCE COMMITTEE:
Vigilance Committee is a vibrant collage of musical styles. It seamlessly blends melodic, driving indie rhythms and catchy vocal hooks with dance-laden synth pop and euphoric, hard-hitting electronica. These elements intricately combined create a full and dynamic electro/indie sound which will ultimately leave you singing, nodding and dancing along all at the same time.
