Some great music acts, but still could have had some of the bigger names that Warehouse Project brought. The venue was very good and spaced out and it was extremely friendly. Had to queue for around 20 minutes to get in but I thought that was very reasonable and well managed by security there. Very professional festival and I will definately attend again next year. Best sound system was the main stage but some of the tents could have had better systems in them often with people chanting for the music to be turned up.

DECENT
Overall rating: 4.5

Wicked day all in all, brilliant for £30.

Function one systems in the tents gave great quality sound, however could probably of done with twice as many speakers as it was a little quiet.

Other than that a decent day!

Started to queue at 3.30pm, didn't get in until about 5, that was poor.
Could have been more toilets.
The crowd was young which brought immature, disrespectful behaviour, bottle throwing, pushing, shoving, ignorance etc.

Apart from that, it was a fantastic day, we had plenty of fun, some brilliant sets, worth the £30, could have done with some bigger names, but will be considering it again for 2011. Note to the young crowd - drop the attitude and share some love it makes for a better time!

Queue 2 get in took 1 hour. Not good.

Queue 2 get drinks at bar 4 near entrance traumatic.

Queue 4 other bars and toilets ok.

poor organisation good atmosphere
Overall rating: 4

Good event poor organisation Took 2 hours queueing started at 4 o clock they had to speed it up as the closing entrance was meant to be 5.30. The bars were poorly organised with the staff having different policies on drinks and totally understaffed as well as running out of stock(for bars sponsored by Brothers Pear Cider to run out by 6 o clock must be embarrassing for the promoters) the food stalls ran out of food and the queues for the toilets took 1/2 hour. The atmosphere was good although most of the acts during the football were playing to empty tents. The event should have gone on till at least 3am but I can understand being in a residential area they probably couldn't get a license. Suggestion for next year Heaton Park

Overall rating: 2.5

Poor organisation - took forever to get into the venue.

Queue for drinks.....traumatic! Not sure what the bar staff were doing as there wasn't even a particulary big queue......how they would have coped if it had been is beyond me.

Queue for food = horrific.

In summary, we spent the entire day/night queuing - very bad poor organisation/not enough staff.

Hopefully better next time!

Amazing atmosphere and line up! Although it was very poorly organised; huge ques for everything, cider ran out at most bars after 2 hrs of being there and they ran out of beer just before the headliners came on! very amateurish, but as being the first one hopefuly they will get it spot on next year! all in all still had an amzing day and the glorious sunshine definitely made it even better!

Too Many Obvious Problems
Overall rating: 2.5

As with all the other comments - the issues everyone had were far too obvious and just should not be happening these days. The queue to get into the venue was way too long. Badly managed with people pushing in continuously creating a bad atmosphere before you'd even got into the venue. Took us 75mins to get in.

The bars were terrible - the queues were just like scrums, the staff didn't know the prices of anything and the Cider sponsor ran out of stock early on in the day.

The sound system on the main stage was rubbish - far too quiet and if the response to this comment is "it was in a residential area" then the event should never have been there in the first place.

The line up was ok at best but scheduling meant the 3 people I actually wanted to see were all on at the same time.

If these issues are addressed for next year then I expect the event to be amazing but this year was something like a task from The Apprentice.

Had a great time with my top performances being Joker, Boy 8 Bit, Buraka Som Systema and Krysko/Greg Lord. Would like to have seen more of a live element to some of the performances. Negs are felt really sorry for the ladies not being enough toilets 80ish between 10,000?? More food sellers required as well i think!

All in all though quality event!

Good festival - just needs to be better organised.
Overall rating: 3

Bad points first

1. The queue to get in was shocking. 1hr 30 mins in the baking heat.
2. The bars were terrible. Badly organised and stocked. A five deep queue at all times.
3. Sound System on the main stage was quiet.
4. Not nearly enough toilets for women.

Good points.
1. A decentish festival in Manchester
2. The Lost in Bass Arena 2 lineup was amazing
and HIGH CONTRAST / Roni Size / Nero played blinding sets. They also had a bar in the tent.
3. Good atmosphere
4. The silent disco was good.

All in all I enjoyed myself, just the day was slighly marred by the execrable organisation.

I have just got to say that I really do think that this event was amazing, but it does have some serious flaws.

The queue to get in did take ages, I would hate to guess at a time but it was long. Anyone who thinks they can get off a bus and walk straight in is kidding themselves. I think the queue time is part of party time and give us an opportunity to get to know other people in the queue and have a laugh along the way.

I think we were lucky that we got food while still in Manchester city centre. The queue for food was awful. When we tried food stalls without queues and they were either closed or closing. With the food all gone, etc, this obviously increased the queues on the other food stalls.

Most bar staff operated like it was their first ever bar job. They were there in person, but nothing was happening.

Its a shame about the lack of toilets. I cant believe I got ejected from the festival for having a pee at the side of the cubicles where everyone was peeing, all because I couldnt stop when asked too.

I dont know why, but when making a phone call or sending a text it failed. Everyone that was in our group and lots of people that I spoke to had exactly the same problem.

So Parklife, for me all you have to do next time is sort out the queues for food, drink and toilets.

Well done so far, I can't wait for 2011.

I thought Parklife was incredible, even the larger more established festivals will be hard pressed to beat the line-up!
And for those complaining about the queuing, what time did you try getting in? We arrived at around 1.30pm and must have only be in the queue for 20 minutes max.
My main gripe would be the food, I didn't bother eating all day as the queues were horrendous, but come on, this was their first time. I'm sure they'll iron out these minor teething problems next time. It's also wicked to have a festival right on our doorstep!!

i went up for parklife from london, had an amazing day and i just wish it lasted longer!! there was a huge queue to get in but it moved quickly, the female toilets weren't too dirty and drinks were quite reasonable. i have learnt my lesson and will get there before 5pm next year as i feel like i missed out on loads of acts! the best bit was there weren't any queues to get inside the tents, you could just go in and get to the front quite easily then come out for a break whenever you wanted. SWEET AS, £35 well spent!

Had an amazing time!! Well worth it! could do with a few more bars and bar staff. I dont know if it just cos it was an England world cup game that mobile phone networks were busy or if it was because so many people in one area trying to use the same relay points but the organisers should try to communitcatie with telecommunications companies so that could ring mates. txting did kinda work but still took a while to get through. Nothing bad to say otherwise about it! Perfect weather for music and chilling, raving in the park :)

AMAZING DAY OUT!!!!!!!!

GREAT ATMOSPHERE, ACTS, LOCATION & WEATHER!!!!!

ONLY BAD POINTS - LONG QUE TO GET IN, BARS - LONG QUES, NOT ENOUGH BARS/ALCOHOL WITH INEXPERIENCED STAFF, NOT ENOUGH FOOD OUTLETS/LONG QUES, NOT ENOUGH TOILETS.

I'LL DEFINITELY ATTEND IN 2011, I JUST HOPE THE ABOVE POINTS ARE TAKEN IN TO CONSIDERATION! IT WAS GREAT TO HAVE A LOCAL FESTIVAL IN MANCHESTER!

Parklife was an amazin day!!

great line-up and a fantastic event overall. Location was perfect. Well done to the organisers considering it was the first event on that scale. Great mix of acts and the first time I have seen a Pizza Express at a festival.

Only improvements would be more toilets, shops and food stalls. Wasn't the greatest amount!! Bar staff didn't have a clue but that is always the case at festivals.

Would be amazing if the festival was longer next year and there was camping. At Sonar, they carry on the festival in the evening at another part and provide coaches. The only reason the que was so long was because you are trying to get 20,000 people in the arena in one afternoon rather than over two days.

music excellent, organisation...not so much!
Overall rating: 3

I'm afraid that paying £30 to queue up for 90 minutes and then not being able to get drinks or food or use the toilet is not good enough. It took the edge off what could have been a fantastic atmosphere.

This really needs to be organised better next time from a customer service point of view - at best poor preparation and organisation, at worst treating customers with contempt.

It's a shame because the music was great. Particularly enjoyed Goldie with some of the old skool drum and bass sound and Friendly Fires outside at the end!

The pinnacle of the best weekend of my life
Overall rating: 4.5

We arrived at about half 3, maybe a 30-40 Min queue but it was fast moving and sort of added to the hype of the whole occasion. The layout was very similar to last years mad ferret festival but why change something that isn't broken.

All of the tents were large enough to fit everyone in and still keep a pretty personal atmosphere. Contradiction to many thoughts there was plenty of room outside to chill for a while between acts. Whilst the football on you could watch from the main stage which kept me and many more happy, even if the outcome wasn't too great.

Many people are moaning about the food and rink, I personally didn't eat because I would have expected delays with the volume of people and just sent off buddies to buy me drinks!

Overall, I thought the event was fantastic and will definitely be coming again next year. great job guys!

What a day, helped by the beautiful sunshine. atmosphere was great from the start and the queue was very reasonable, i wasnt stood still for long (the shared bottle of brandy helped witht he queue) for £30 i dont think a better bargain could be found all summer. The only dilemma I had was whether to watch england on the big screen or booka shade. opted for half of each in the end. What a way to start the summer festival season!

Parklife = Totally worth the wait!
Overall rating: 4

Excellent festival and cheap considering the acts playing in comparison to attending one day of other festivals.

My only complaint which is evidently shared by others: the queing time. This took a very, very long time and was not helped by many people pushing in: perhaps a different entry system next year which utilises more than one entrance to the site?!

Once the que was over, the event was fantastic: the usual 'more bars more toilets' complaints did appply, but I was very, very glad that Platt Fields was being used for a large, enjoyable and mostly electronic music event!

I would say though for next year, if Fake Blood playing get him on the main stage!

I will definatly be attending if Parklife is on again next year
