Paradises opening weekend sees three nights queuing up, each offering differing aural experiences which reflect the direction the club is leading for its tenure. Sam says that:
The Fridays are going to play host to a variety of different nights, and no artist over the first six months will be repeated, so each night will be unique. The music policy on the Fridays will be quite adventurous, and really varied... we are going to be working with some new talent, and the best local nights in a way that we cant necessarily do at The Warehouse Project. Saturdays are going to move around house and techno, and once again be quite varied week to week, but all bound together by a really strong team of residents and the prime local players. Over this six month period there will of course be some visits from some of the big key names, but also from some really underground artists that arent so well known. Hopefully well get that balance right.
So
in keeping with this broad and adventurous music policy, the sublime
and revered Laurent Garnier making a long awaited return to the
city - headlines the opening Paradise session with Mike Pickering,
along with Krysko and Danny Mac on Thursday 24th
January. Friday sees Skream
Kode 9, High Contrast, Logistics,
Rich Reason and the Bass Camp DJs. The last party of the opening
weekend features Steve Angello, Paul Woolford, Krysko, Greg Lord and
Andro.
So from Thursday 24th January onwards, Paradise will become and integral part of Manchesters musical heritage, and help shape the citys evolution too.
