Mixed bag

I was first graced with a Jacques Greene set back to back with XXXY at the brilliant Mint club in Leeds in 2011. Absolutely top set and a great night in every way. Good vibes, amazing set, perfect venue, *nice air con*, and only one bastard felt up my girlfriend as he slipped past us.

Fast forward to Odder, November 2013. Packd like sardines in a crushd tin box, the humidity of a tropical jungle, not to mention a not-insignificant wait *outside* the venue in the cold, despite ticket pre-purchase.

Maybe it's because I'm getting too old for this ****. Maybe it's because we were surrounded by more gropers than a prostitute in a maximum security prison full of rapists. Maybe it's because the women have turned into the biggest camera-obsessives I've come across since 5th Ave. Maybe it's because Jacques looked like he didn't want to be there, at least not as much as back on that fateful night in Leeds two years ago. But this time round, despite dropping a few faves like Body Party and Quicksand, he didn't manage to rouse. Let's put it down to the atmosphere and the venue, because I don't think he's ever done a bad set.
