The Funkademia & Skiddle Christmas Party tickets and listings

We've been firm friends with Funkademia for a long time. We're not sure if its their weekly infusion of funk, soul & disco that hits the spot everytime on a night out in Manchester or the now legendary daytime sessions at The Wickerman Festival that does it, or indeed if it's just the home cooking and after hours shennanigans that makes us love them the way we do, but one things for sure, we couldn't think of a better place to have the Skiddle Christmas Party.

In the main room old Hed Kandi stable mates, David Dunne and Jason Vereker will be re-united for to give their take on all things Funkademia. Soul funk mixed up with a few Manchester house classics provides a soundtrack to soothe the weariest of Christmas souls.

Skiddle.com host the backroom and take things well, a little less seriously. Lock up your stepmum's, as our guest star for the night is Rupert Hill, best known as Mike Baldwin's grandson Jamie Baldwin from the hit soap Coronation Street.

RichSkiddle says: "As part of our Christmas party we wanted to raise a glass to 50 years of Corrie. Unfortunately Chesney is to young to be allowed into the club, it will be past Ken Barlow's bed time and Steve Macdonald can't mix for S**T, so we welcome instead Rupert, a favourite from our past and star of top band Yellow Dog. He's also the landlord at the Castle Pub on Oldham St, so we've saved a fortune on transport"

Joining Rupert will be the Skiddle Allstars, complete with a record collection as wide as a whale and as big as a bus expect anything. Guests confirmed include Tim (Don't You Want Me Baby) Forrester and Ginny Kristmas.
