Maintaining the pace of our last three line-ups we go back to the future with THE most influential DJ of the post-garage dubstep scene and push uncompromisingly forward with two of the most critically acclaimed, mercurial producers/DJs of the last year or so.

Room Two comes courtesy of the Subdivision Crew.

As always – cheap entry and cheap drinks.

Your time.

“No one DJ or indeed producer can claim sole credit for dubstep. But when the history of the genre gets told, no DJ has ever had, or perhaps ever will again have so much influence over the course of the genre as Hatcha. It’s no overstatement to say the entire genre bares his stamp.” – Martin Clark (Blackdown)

It’s difficult to overstate the importance and sheer weight of influence Hatcha has had in the evolution of dubstep and it’s subsequent post garage offshoots. The self professed world’s first dubstep DJ, Terry Leonard started out as the buyer at the now legendary and defunct Big Apple record shop in Croydon – a creative hub where the likes of Skream, Benga, Loefah and Digital Mystikz would hangout and exchange tracks. By 2002, Hatcha could lay claim to being Rinse FM’s first dubstep DJ – soon to be joined by Kode9, Youngsta and N-Type.

Fast forward to the present and having mixed the first and fourth volumes of Tempa’s exemplary Dubstep Allstars series, held down a weekly slot on KissFM, played in every corner of the globe and produced tracks with scenes biggest names, Hatcha remains at the very top of his game. Alongside Youngsta, Hatcha is undoubtedly one the of most technically on-point dubstep DJs you will see.

“Dubstep is just a skeleton to throw loads of influences at and see what happens.” 2009 was undoubtedly 31-year-old Jack Dunning’s breakthrough year. A string of highly sought after releases on his own Hemlock imprint, alongside E.Ps on Hessle Audio and Scuba’s Hotflush Recordings cemented Untold at the forefront of a group of producers shaking the dubstep sound to it’s very core. Harnessing the aggression of grime, the syncopation of dark jungle and a dance floor friendly House sensibility with releases such as ‘Anaconda’ and ‘I Can’t Stop This Feeling’, it’s little wonder that 2010 has seen Untold commissioned to do high profile remixes for the likes of Ke$ha and Boyz Noize. Guaranteed to smash up the dancefloor with the one of the most innovative sound palettes in bass music..

We’re massively excited about this one. Since breaking away from his initial halfstep experimentation with label mate Technical Itch (of d’n’b fame), Headhunter has proved himself as one of the most interesting and mercurial producers in electronic music today. Joining the dots between the ultra-bass heavy productions of Skream & Benga and the minimal/dub/techno sound permeating from Berlin, Headhunter released his debut album ‘Nomad’ on Tempa in 2008 to worldwide critical acclaim. Most recently the young Bristolian has had the privilege of being remixed by the mighty Modeselektor on ‘Prototype’, having had the chance himself to remix such high profile names as minimal hero Martin Buttrich.
Expect cavernously low, echo-laden textures through to jittery, grime beats, all underpinned by an electronic ethos which reflects the wide-ranging influences and progressive sounds of man like Headhunter..
