Roberts original compositions heavily draw on musical influences from the Middle East (particularly Sufi music, Arabic and Turkish music) and are fused with contemporary jazz stylings. Hailing from West Yorkshire, Robert studied organ at the Royal Northern College of Music where he graduated in 2006.
Despite immersing himself in classical music for his years in Manchester, Robert has always had innate passion for jazz and as such formed his own piano trio in 2008. Since then the group has been steadily building its reputation across the north of England, with regular concert and festival appearances, private parties and corporate events. Robert has a very varied and busy freelance career, which involves a healthy mix of performing concerts, accompaniment work, teaching and composition.
