It's personal taste obviously, but I'd rather have seen one support band, an 11 O'Clock finish and a tenner off the ticket price. Felt like they were trying to do a 'Gig as a Club-Night' sort of thing. I liked the idea, but it didn't really have the atmosphere of either and the place was half-empty when Caribou went on. :(

I had great expectations, and for me they were a bit of a disappointment... only 40 minutes with just tracks from the new album, and without the sound quality that one could expect from the band, it was just correct, but nothing else. Ramadanman was cool, it was a nice set. Maybe the style didn't match the other bands very much, but it was refreshing. In the meantime they were arranging the scenario for Caribou. Caribou was something else... I have been wanting to see them live for ages and I wasn't disappointed at all. The played most of Swim, and maybe a couple of tracks from Andorra. Every song sounded great, and all of them are amazing musicians... Dan Snaith switching from vocals, to drums, to synths with such ease! The drummer is amazing too. They closed, as I was expecting, with Sun, it was awesome, so intense. Looking forward to see them again!

![]() chedup Offline Points:764 Posts: 41 | Poor drummer got hit with cup! Overall rating: ![]() This was my second time watching MGMT, and obviously this tour focusing on their album 'Congratulations'. Although I don't think this album is as good as their first, I still wanted to show my support to the band. The guitarist and drummer totally stole the show, and gave their all. I do feel they still have so much to give, and preferred the first time I saw them. Although their drummer may have been slightly put off towards the end of set as someone threw a cup of urine at him. He was not best pleased and proceeded to show the fan his finger! The band members only noticed as they started playing their hit Kids and were forced to ask the crowd: 'Where's Will gone?' They were forced to play the last song of their set, Congratulations, without percussion. A good gig, glad I went, but would probably not pay to watch them again as I've seen them twice now and haven't been totally blown away by them.

Highlights had to be a rushed intro version of Pineapple Head, Distant Sun, A rocky It's Only Natural and Johnny Marr cameo! Terrific!

![]() danclay77 Offline Points:310 Posts: 20 | Science Tour Overall rating: ![]() Ricky Gervais' fourth stand up show trades on that familiar persona - money and fame - so important to Gervais. Despite being titled "Science" there's actually very little science to go on except to say that Gervais has perfected the art of stand up in reasonably a short space of time. Most of the jokes revolve around his showbiz life, but the highlights of the set involve a deconstruction of "Noah's Ark" as told from a child's book, and a final joke that will shock as much as make you roar with laughter. Recommended!
