Two of the UK’s biggest party brands, Metropolis and Ape, are coming together to put on one serious party in the clubbing Mecca that is Manchester… With a line up of huge act after huge act played out over the record breaking Valve Sound system, specifically designed for the Drum and Bass scene by two of it’s biggest stars, Dillinja and Lemon D.
After 3 incredible years, Ape have carved out a reputation for bringing together some of the best acts around. After an amazing 2008 which saw them host their own tent at Creamfields, as well as throw an incredible birthday bash at Manchester’s indisputably amazing venue, The Warehouse Project, which saw the likes of High Contrast, Magnetic man and the amazing Roots Manuva step up to the stage, 2009 is hyped to the max and plans are afoot to once again smash out some top class acts and mammoth parties.
Alongside Metropolis, one of the UK’s biggest and best urban party brands, the two dynamic forces will showcase an incredible line up of some of the hottest acts around in the incredible venue that is the Manchester Apollo. This famous venue has been host to some of the worlds biggest acts, and following two incredible Ape parties in 2007, has been chosen to house this immense night. Not one to be missed…
Dillinja and Lemon D
The Drum and Bass legends behind the huge Valve Recordings and of course the world record breaking Valve Sound System, never fail to rock the roof off a party. These Metropolis regulars are arguably two of the most prolific and important figures in DnB today.
Chase and Status
Chase and Status, arguably one of the biggest acts around at the moment, have smashed through the Dubstep ranks over recent years to become one of the most talked about duos of their genre. Their own releases have made some serious headway in the UK dance chart including 3 number ones and with the recent release of their debut album, things are only set to get bigger and crazier for these two.
Scratch Perverts
Its all in the name with these guys, with highly energetic sets showcasing awesome scratching skills and a profile growing by the day, there’s no surprise that they are regularly on the decks at the hottest venues both in the UK and internationally and scooping awards left, right and centre including two World DMC Team titles!
Noisia
This hugely successful Netherlands production trio had an incredible 2008. Not only were they asked to remix Moby, they released a Fabric Live CD and endlessly toured the world. As DJs, you can expect a diversity in their sets that pulls in everything from breaks to hip hop whilst working with ease around their main Drum’n’Bass sound.
Die & Fierce
Major players in the Drum’n’Bass scene and key figures in the massive V recordings, there isn’t much these guys don’t know about playing some serious tunes.
Birdy Nam Nam
Not only World DMC champions, these French bass peddlers make live music from scratching, the kind of talent that leaves clubbers open mouthed and desperate for more.
Youngsta
A key figure in the Dubstep scene and Rinse FM regular, there’s no one that hasn’t heard of, danced to or partied with this guy. And as his profile grows bigger it won’t be long before he takes over the scene entirely.
Loefah
An exciting new dubstep star who’s broken onto the scene with force. Expect big things from this kid.
DJ Derek
A legend amongst the reggae set, DJ Derek is one of the coolest players on the scene.
With the best and most diverse acts in music at one of the best venues in the North, this is going to kick off your Spring with an array of thick, rowdy beats and dirty bass to knock you to the floor…
