 kerrif Offline Points:38 Posts: 1 | a total shambles Overall rating:  This event could/should have been brilliant, but wasn't - terrible venue, poor sound (technical problems & too quiet) and dreadful organisation. We missed about 1/3rd of the night queuing inexplicably to get in & so missed most of Levon Vincent (who friends who came down from Scotland specifically to see). Then I got separated from all my friends after going to the loo when the door to one room was suddenly without any prior notice. Marcel Dettman was average, but Pinch was an excellent late replacement for Falty DL - sadly he played to about 20 people as folks had got fed up & left. Embarrassing. I'd never got to another night like this at the Academy. | ||||||||||||||

gayle89 Offline Points:22 Posts: 1 | great music, better organisation Overall rating:  Organisation on the doors was too much faff, having the tickets allocated and then given in every time you left a room was a hassle, especially if you accidentally lost your ticket - this was a nightmare after paying for the event and then having to argue your way back in. Next time an event like this needs either a stamp system of wristbands allocated to avoid so many ques etc. Otherwise a great night. | ||||||||||||||

FraserCourts Offline Points:24 Posts: 1 | Disappointing Dettman Overall rating:  Awful door organisation (the que took an hour with a lot of pushing and shoving), bad space allocation (again, I had to que for over 30 mins to get back into a room I left only to use the gents), and on top of this, Marcel Dettman was very average. Disappointing night, and I really don't think this venue should be allowed to stage events of this type or scale. | ||||||||||||||

 downsy Offline Points:18 Posts: 1 | Sleigh Bells Overall rating: A truly great evening was had in the presence of New York duo Sleigh Bells. Front woman Alexis ruled the roost as the harmonies mixed well with the hard n heavy sound. A blistering 45 minute gig in which she spent almost as much time in/on the crowd as on the stage. A rapturous public tells you all you need to know about the show and i for one cant wait for their return. | ||||||||||||||

 chedup Offline Points:764 Posts: 41 | Much better than expected Overall rating:  Marina and the The Diamonds were far better than anticipated, the catchy tunes of "I am not a robot" and "Hollywood" were the crowds favourites. Great live singer who interacted well with the crowd and seemed to really enjoy herself. The venue was way too hot though and I believe a few people got took ill. | ||||||||||||||
