Lineup and Details for Consortium present French Fries, Throwing Snow & Lakosa on Fri 10th August 2012
His first release was at the age of 16, he is now 20 and everything he touches he turns it into gold. At just the age of 18, he earns unanimous support with the ARMA E.P. which was playlisted all over the world before it was even released, from big names like A-trak. Breakthrough artist of the 2010 WMC without even crossing the ocean, his track Senta was a big hit and made its way into every artists set under the Miami sun. French Fries is not greedy and lends his talent for remixes where experiments turn the good into great. The frenzy of his youth and his flawless technique will make you smile, raise your arms and tap your feet.

Throwing Snow
Here is what xlr8r has to say... "The new year is a time when people are naturally inclined to look toward the future, so it's fitting that our first podcast of 2012 comes from an artist we're expecting to hear a lot from in the months ahead. In all honesty, Throwing Snow aka Ross Tones is a name that already popped up on XLR8R quite a bit in 2011, particularly following the release of his stellar "Shadower" b/w "Sanctum" single. The UK producer wrapped up last year with the adventurous Too Polite EP on Local Action, and now, he's assembled this exclusive mix for XLR8R. Throwing Snow's tunes have always had a sort of melodically moody air about them, a characteristic that's also evident on the various house, bass, and even hip-hop-flavored tracks he's weaved together here. But there's more to this mix than club tunes, as the up-and-coming artist also showcases an affinity for more ambient and experimental soundscapes by periodically shifting gears away from the dancefloor and delving into spacey pieces of drumless production. It's an interesting tactic, and one that Throwing Snow employs without messing up the overall vibe of the listening experience.

LAKOSA

LAKOSA aka Stefan Smith makes his Manchester debut with an exciting future ahead. At a tender age he has already released on now legendary electronic music label 'Super' which is owned and ran by none other than DJ/Producer Raffertie, as well as releasing tracks for Fortified Audio and Shifting Peaks during 2011.
2012 has seen the temperature rise for this young talent and recent collaborations with fellow London based producer 'i.O' have seen regular play on Mary Anne Hobbs XFM show as well as a guest mix and regular play on Rinse FM.
Lakosa has also just been cherry picked by none other than Kerri Chandler to release on his brand new label 'MadTech' later this year and this move is sure to cement Lakosa into the UK and wider electronic dance music scene as a real force to be reckoned with.
