Actress, an accomplished producer and dj, has in the last 6 years of running the Werk label, set himself apart as not only one of the coolest muthafuckas in the business; but also as one of the hottest A&R scouts within his field, having discovered and released some of the most widely talked about artists of the emerging bass generation, namely Disrupt, Zomby, Lukid and Starkey. As Actress, he produced countless modern day masterpieces including the inspirational 'Hazyville' LP which drew cries for a Mercury Music Award nomination untop of a massive catalogue. He's remixed the too cool for school Various Production, written for the seminal techno imprint Soma and has recently confirmed an album deal on Honest Jons, the British independent record label created and founded by Damon Albarn. This guy couldn't be better suited to Selective Hearing. Pushing a blend of colourful techno and quirky house imprints that blur all those familiar lines, both on production and label endeavours. Its an honour to finally be able to invite him to play the basement for what promises to be an incredible show.

Next up is one of the most impressive electronic producers on today's scene. One of the most important "new generation" artists to release music in the past few years; Jack Tiraquin knows no bounds; pushing an original template of complex originalities and carefully selected influences, he projects nothing more and nothing less than "Galactic Funk" which is his self-proclaimed synopis of his own daring sounds. Space Dimension Controller has made waves across the scene since the release of The Love Quadrant EP and continues to do so with each release, most recently The Pathway to Tiraquon6 on R & S Records.
SDC, Blends what can only be described as an amalgamation of space infused techno and galactic funk; all streaming through your speakers in a way that is not only original; but seemingly timeless. Maybe through the vacuums of space between us and the bedroom in Mikrosector-50 where SDC can be heard creating these funkd up fusions of space crunk, the space dimension controller sound was born. Recently, SDC actually covered for Jeff Mills in the warehouse project and was said to be the set of the night. Now you get a chance to see a man that headlined the warehouse project car park in the intimate Joshua brooks basement. Come at me BRO!

Making his second appearance at the notorious hollow that is Joshua Brooks. Coming all the way from Berlin, the masked techno selector comes to turn selective hearing into a sea of swinging arms, sweaty foreheads pumping fists (no homo). Redshape debuted his crunching form of techno in 2006 on Deslin Records. This release, even though his first, portrayed the masked mans accomplished relationship with the true foundations of techno; highlighting his respect for the gods that played before him whilst highlighting his ability to craft his own sound which in todays genre bending scenes is a task in itself. Releasing on imprints such as R&S, 3024, Brainfeeder and Dutch Techno imprint Delsin, Redshapes take on how to construct a track has turned him into a star within the circuit. Championed by djs such as carl craig, martyn and 2562. Redshapes sound has become more and more prolific; already making him into one of the greats. Catch this masked man annihilating our 2nd birthday with no regard for your safety, nor the systems health after his last tune.

And of course our residents. Man named Versa has been smashing it up all over the continent, with releases on Smoking Sessions & M.U.D and remix work with the likes of Biome, Synkro & Indigo, 2012 is going to see Versa move up a notch in the world of Bass.

Shadowfax has been going down a new musical path of late, but still keeping true to his bass orientated roots. Creating snaring energetic yet soulful techno with elements of house eased in and an under laying of a 2step shuffle. 2012 is going to be a big year with a forthcoming release on our very own label, as well support from artists such as Indigo, Synkro, My Nu Leng and a whole host of other creative talent,

Finally we welcome 310-190 to smash the dance at Joshua Brurooks. Having dj'd all over Manchester for numerous years, 310-190 has had a resurgence in bookings. With future gigs in line with Joy O & Skudge at Sankeys & Sbtrkt for Now Wave. This kids coming back with real fire. Potatooooooo.
