DESIGNER MAGAZINE PRESENTS.... MR TOM
The Cut Out And Keeps
Dry Bar, Oldham Street, Manchester
4th May Feb 2012
£5 adv tickets from Skiddle, WeGotTickets and Seetickets
Mr Tom are a bunch of likely lads in their early twenties from the Southampton and Waterside Area.
Formed two years ago, the band is fronted by Nick Crowe, with Steve Colver The Revolver on lead guitar, Dom Andrews on bass, and Leeroy Marcer on drums.
Characterised by upbeat melodies, witty lyrics, and catchy hooks; this is dance inspiring, feel-good indie pop at its best.
Nick and Dom met at 17 years old through mutual friends at a house party, with Steve joining later on at college. The sound was completed by Leeroy, who was recruited directly from Southamptons renowned Academy of Music and Sound.
Breaking the mould of ubiquitous angst ridden musos, Mr Tom are making a reputation for themselves as being thoroughly fun loving good guys. Theres a lot of love for them in their home town, perhaps because they have a knack for turning every gig into a party - what other indie band has been known to offer vodka jelly shots on arrival at their gigs?
The band has recently finished working with James Kenosha; one of the UKs hottest new producers, noted for his work with Pulled Apart By Horses, Dinosaur Pile-Up, Grammatics and Dry The River. Having just returned from a two week stint recording two exciting new tracks at Kenoshas studio in Bridlington near Leeds, Mr Tom are set to gain UK radio airplay in January, ahead of their debut single release Feet Hit The Floor and their nationwide tour commencing February.
