Lineup and details
Released November 3rd from Townsend Records
After the national success of the likes of 'He's Turned Emo' and 'Chippy Tea' The Lancashire Hotpots are now all set to release their 2nd album
'POT SOUNDS'
There aren't many bands who can have their videos played on MTV2 and also have real ales named after them but there also aren't many bands like The Lancashire Hotpots.
With 750,000 Myspace plays currently to their credit, their first album Never Mind The Hotpots with its comedic folk observations on 21st Century life reached No 2 in the BBC 6 Music Album charts with national support from Radio 1 (Colin Murray, Rob Da Bank), Radio 2 (Chris Evans, Arthur Smith) and 6Music (Steve Lamacq). The Hotpots now unveil their new oeuvre 'Pot Sounds' with a bigger sound and further comic insights into topics such as climate change (Don't Make The Polar Bears Cry), Saturday afternoon shopping (I Fear Ikea), illegal file sharing and how ultimately binge drinking Britain can ensure sporting success in 2012 (The Beer Olympics).
In the 18 months since their first live appearance they have become one of the biggest live bands in the North West climaxing in April 2008 with a 1,200 sell-out at the 53 Degrees venue in Preston. Their current Pot Sounds tour also takes in twenty dates supporting ardent fan Paddy McGuinness on his 'Paddy McGuinness and You' national tour.
