This month we have something a little bit differernt and very, very special. Dreadzone Soundsystem and former Leftfield Reggae legend Earl 16 are coming to town to tear down The Attic. This is a truly heavyweight line-up - expect classic tunes a plenty!
DREADZONE SOUNDSYSTEM

Dreadzone was formed by Greg Dread back in 1992 along with fellow founder Tim Bran. As the mainstay Greg steered Dreadzone through calm and troubled waters throughout their 15 year history through different line ups including constant members Leo Williams (ex BAD), legendary reggae vocalist Earl 16 (Leftfield) and MC Spee.
EARL 16
(Dreadzone, Leftfield)
Earl Sixteen was born Earl Daley in Kingston, Jamaica in 1958.
His first hit came about when he sung the song 'Malcom X', written by his childhood friend Winston McAnuff and produced by Derrick Harriott. Later Dennis Brown covered the song to great success. Around this same period he hooked up with Lee Perry at his Black Ark Studio, and recorded two songs - 'Cheating' and 'Freedom', the latter a bonafide classic roots tune. Earl first started collaborating with Dreadzone back in 1995 and was first heard on the 'Second Light' album. He has contributed to every Dreadzone album since, and has been part of the Dreadzone Live band.
