SATURDAY 12TH MARCH 2011
THE BLITZ PARTY, the 1940s night that is just brimming with community spirit, returns to London with a bang on Saturday 12th March 2011.
Taking place at Village Underground in Shoreditch, this night promises to be another fantastic night of the finest 1940s music and dancing. The venue will be transformed into a wartime East End air-raid shelter, complete with sandbags, searchlights, blackout curtains, oil lamps and military bunk beds. Ration books will replace bar menus and scarce provisions will line the walls.
The Blitz Party will play host to the UKs finest live swing bands, performers and DJs. The Blitz Party favourites, Ta Mere and Twin Tonic will play big band tunes for fun-loving party girls who long to share a cocktail with a handsome man in uniform. The Spitfire Bar will serve good old Kentish Ale and hearty food to hungry soldiers and another room will project original newsreels and wartime films, accompanied by live music.
Ladies, don your lipstick and tea-dresses and draw on those stockings. Gentlemen dust off your medals and wave your Union Jack with pride. The Blitz Party is Londons hottest night, where cocktails, dancing and neighbourly spirit are the order of the evening.
Dress Code 1940s glam, home front utility clothing and allied uniform all welcome
Bunker Opens at 8pm, Floor shows & entertainment from 9pm
