On Friday 22nd February, The Gallery and Nuestra Casa present an awesome night of electronic dance music at Turnmills (London) that simply cannot be missed. In the main room, the Gallery will be showcasing two of its most loyal servants, Tall Paul and Sister Bliss, alongside a new talent in the shape of Simon Patterson (Dogzilla) and one of its most regular guests, Christopher Lawrence. Meanwhile, in the second room, Nuestra Casa present house music megastar and Ibiza legend Pete Gooding!
Tall Paul's popularity has seen him DJ world-wide travelling to the U.S., Canada, Japan, South America, Asia, India, Dubai, South Africa and all over Europe. Paul also continues to raise his profile in America where he tours the main cities on a regular basis. But the big man loves nothing more to return to his spiritual home of Turnmills to whip everyone into shape and drop another one of those classic main room sets hes has become famous for.
Sister Bliss is a DJ/producer that needs very little introduction. As one of the founding members of Faithless, she has become one of Britain's most popular figures in the electronica scene. Despite the massive worldwide success of Faithless, who have produced the mammoth hits 'Insonmia' and 'God is a DJ', she is probably most comfortable on the ones and twos, pumping out her unique blend of classy trance and house music to sweaty clubbers!
Christopher Lawrence was voted the #4 DJ in the World by DJ Magazine's prestigious 'Top 100' poll for 2006, and is recognized worldwide as one of the World's top DJs and producers. Once an outsider in a world dominated by European and UK DJs, Christopher has risen to the top of the international dance music heap. We can't wait to let him loose on the Turnmill's faithful with his tough, techy trance sound.
Turnmills regular Simon Patterson (Dogzilla) will be taking the night up a notch in the early hours. Simon comes to The Gallery fresh from yet another set of monster releases such as Bulldozer and We'll See, as well as his side project Dogzilla, famed for classics such as Without You and Your Eyes. A DJ regular worldwide, Simon is certainly on the fast track to DJ super-stardom!
The second room will be hosted by purveyors of only the finest melodic house music, Nuestra Casa. And such a mammoth occasion would not be complete without a fittingly huge headliner, house music megastar and Ibiza legend Pete Gooding!
Pete Gooding has long been synonymous with Ibiza, and has been best known for his residency at Cafe Mambo where he's been behind the decks there for eight hours a night for the last 10 summers. In 1996, 3 years after he started DJing, he landed his Mambo residency through old school friend Steve Lawler, and the following year released his first award-winning Cafe Mambo compilation. He's since released seven more of them through Neo, Sony, React, Defected and all have received rave reviews.
2002 saw him scoop Best Ibiza DJ at the prestigious Pacha Awards. Pete Tong's Essential Selection confirmed Gooding's role as an Ibizan institution by adopting Mambo as its spiritual home, and made Gooding a fixture on Radio One's various summer broadcasts, where he also played on shows for the likes of Danny Rampling and Seb Fontaine.
But if you've ever set foot on La Isla Blanca, or heard him at his countless UK and international gigs, you'll know his musical clout extends far beyond chillout or obscure ambient electronica, and he has developed his sound to fit peak time, main room gigs. In fact, he was recently offered a residency by the mighty Renaissance, which he still holds to this day. Needless to say were very excited about bringing Petes balearic beats to the Nuestra dancefloor!
They will also be welcoming back Nuestra favourites Parish Beats, who really turned heads with their epic set at the first birthday in December. Their versatility and enthusiasm behind the decks, backed up by their near-encyclopaedic knowledge of dance music make them worthy additions to any bill. You can download their most recent mix by right clicking here and choosing 'Save Target As'.
And of course, it wouldn't be a Nuestra Casa party if the BroKen DJs weren't in attendance. Fierce champions of the 'Disco-Prog' house sound, these likeable lads from the East Midlands are really starting to make waves in the London scene come and find out why!
Rounding off the evening (or should we say morning) in fine style will be Nuestra residents and regular DJ duo Oliver James & Cosmique. Expect infectious basslines, soaring synths, vocals and maybe a few of their own cheeky remixes thrown in for good measure :-) Right click here and choose choose 'Save Target As' to download Cosmique's brilliant mix that was featured on the Loop Music Show, broadcast 17/01/08.
