Lineup and Details for Steam Industry Free Theatre presents Agamemnon on Sun 22nd July 2012
To celebrate a decade of creating award-winning free theatre at The Scoop at More London, Suzanna Rosenthal for Steam Industry Free Theatre presents a NEW free Oresteia to honour the Ancient Greek spirit of the Olympic Games. This rare staging of the magnificent Oresteia trilogy is a three-part epic drama charting Ancient Greece's journey from chaos and war to peace, justice and the harmony that inspired the Olympic ideal. Adapted from Aeschylus by Steam Industry Free Theatre featuring The Trojan Horse (18:30), Agamemnon (20:00) and Orestes (21:30). Plays can be enjoyed individually or as a whole.
The second performance is Agamemnon: As twilight falls across the Scoop at More London, the gruesome and dramatic story of a hero's homecoming steeped in murder and revenge will gradually unfold. A great king is reunited with his queen but bitter memories bubble to the surface and recriminations are bloody and unexpected.
Each play is an hour long and can be enjoyed separately or in sequence throughout the course of a single evening's spine tingling theatre.
Post show chats with the Company will take place after Orestes on Sundays 8, 15, 22 and 29 July.
BSL interpreted performances - Saturday 21 July for The Trojan Horse; Thursday 26 July - Agamemnon and Orestes.
