Lineup and Details for Stop Look Listen on Tue 3rd April 2012
Zoe Konez *new single release
--- 900 Spaces ---
900 Spaces are four pieces of organically spattered dance floor indie jigsaw. Their music is often described as disco-inspired, characterised by thick grinding synthesisers and ballsy, new-wave disco rhythms. The band is dominated by infectious melodies, blending origins of Cyndi Lauper, and The Cure with the contemporary edge of Foals, Bloc. Party, and Two Door Cinema Club.
900 Spaces played at Stop Look Listen last year and were inspired by the format of stipping their full-on sound to something more acoustic. They are currently recording a new 5 track EP to be released in June.
--- AMiTY ---
Wolverhampton born Amy Forrester went to a Festival in the summer of '99, watched some bands and went straight home to learn drums. Once she had honed her slightly Bobby Gillespie-esque drumming style, she self taught herself to play guitar and experimented with loop pedals. Next she created a kazoo out of an old toilet roll tube, discovered she could sing and decided she could never do anything else but make music.
Now based in Brighton, AMiTY has emerged from a studio with a debut EP full of catchy Lo-Fi pop songs that steal hearts and cause dance floor invasions.
--- David Humeda ---
Singer/songwriter/musician David Humeda is from Monterrey, Mexico. Cultivating the art of songwriting has been a daily passionate pursuit for the past 14 years. Davids songs embrace the listener with a soulful depth of musical richness.
His new EP, Educated Guess, is scheduled for release on April 3rd.
David's performance at Stop Look Listen marks his debut on stage in the UK.
--- Annie Eve ---
Delicately and respectfully blending the mystical magic of Bon Iver with the pop sensibilities of the likes of Regina Spektor and Norah Jones, Annie Eve pours sugar and bitter spice into her angelic compositions with disturbing ease and sincerity.
Outstandingly accomplished, Annie Eve's onstage persona only stands to bewitch you even more.
--- Zoe Konez ---
Zoe tears up the singer/songwriter stereotype, delivering rousing tales through blazing guitar gymnastics, intense vocal melodies, edgy altered-tunings and irregular-rhythms. The single "Hayley Don't Say Goodbye" is available on pre-release for the first time and this show will be the official release party.
