Lineup and Details for Folklore's Sunday Social Featuring LAISH + Many More on Sun 22nd July 2012

Headlining the day are the wonderful Laish who are a playful, thoughtful and uplifting kind of band. Daniel Green delivers songs with deft lyrical honesty and wit; with the kind of distinctive voice and finger picked guitar technique you would hope for. The songs are lushly arranged featuring the finest that the Willkommen Collective of Brighton has to offer. Emma Gatrill and Martha Rose provide the angelic voices and organic instrumentation of violin, clarinet and accordion; and Patrick Lawrence and Dan Harding now lay down the solid rhythm foundation of bass and drums.

The band have toured relentlessly throughout the UK and Europe over the last three years, both headlining and supporting the likes of Sons of Noel & Adrian, Peggy Sue, David Thomas Broughton and even one night with Grizzly Bear and Beach House at The Roundhouse. They are also performing at this years first No Direction Home Festival. They have so far released a self-titled album that received a glowing reception from many including Mojo Magazine who were impressed by its beguiling songs of love. Following on from this was the single and video for She is Clever and a brand new tour-only release, Obituaries EP. They have a brand new album impatiently waiting in the wings. To give you an idea of where their sound is filed, imagine the darkness of Low or Bill Callahan and the joy of Herman Dune or Belle and Sebastian.
