London Sunshine is a monthly (well, sort of) night that takes place at The Bunker Club in Deptford. It is firmly based upon the following principles:
*LOUD MUSIC (INDIE/ELECTRO)
*CHEAP ENTRY
*EVEN CHEAPER ALCOHOL
*GENERAL IDIOCY
The idea behind the night is that it is just like a big house party where everyone can come, get ludicrously drunk, dance like a crazed lunatic and then do it all again. It isn't a particularly big or clever formula but it does appear to work. London Sunshine is fairly young (it only started back in October) but since then we have put on some of the best nights that South East London has seen in a long time. We have featured dj sets from The Rakes, Friendly Fires, Man Like Me, Goldierocks, Pull Tiger Tail, Race Riot, London Loves, Wilkie Wilkinson, Food Soundystem and A.R.F djs. We also put on a live set from Kennedy although that was just a little bit odd really.
The next London Sunshine is on Friday 23 May and it promises to be another absolute banger. We have already confirmed a dj set from up and coming electro-rave heroes DEAD KIDS (www.myspace.com/youaredeadkids). Fresh from supporting Chromeo at Koko they are on the verge of big things. This is a great chance to hear them spin some of their favourite tunes in an intimate venue so don't miss out!
Support on the night will be coming from New Cross local DJ DOCTAAA (www.myspace.com/djdoctaaa). He is the master of electro booty house and has showcased his talents at venues across London including 333, Dust and 93 Feet East. Originally from Canada he is going to play a set that is guaranteed to get everyone on the dancefloor!
The night is hosted by Owen and Tom who are also the resident djs. Tom and Owen play as THE DEPTFORD NOISE TEAM whose blend of pounding electro and indie brings the night to an incredible climax!
As ever it will be only £3 to get in and doubles/mixer are only £2.50. What's not to love?
