ISSST vs SLAANG NEW YEARS
EVE 2007
SECRET LOCATION, SHOREDITCH LONDON
Forget about all nightclubs.
Forget about all other
parties.
Forget about all previous
Slaang and ISSST parties.
Forget about last year's
roadblock ISSST NYE warehouse party.
... Forget about them all;
they are all about to become redundant.
Last NYE ISSST threw down one of the
best secret warehouse parties London
has ever experienced.
Tiefschwarz,
Simian Mobile Disco and
Klaxons
joining
Bobby M and
Kevin Griffiths in two dark, cavernous,
Shoreditch railway arches for one legendary night of pure, mindless hedonism. Then
the lucky few who were able to get into the
ISSST NYE Afterparty also
witnessed
Tiefschwarz playing a marathon secret set in a
heaving 80s
pub in East London, going deep into New Years Day.
This New Years Eve the bar
is about to be raised again
operating
outside of the seemingly hard-wired, apathetic conformity. Blowing away modern
expectations and making any other option mild and mundane. A new era is about
to be defined.
This NYE there will be an
even bigger bang: NYE 2007 ... ISSST versus Slaang.
Throughout 2007, Slaang and ISSST have
reinvented the warehouse party, reviving it from 'back in the day' memories.
While others rip out the soul and fun of night-time spaces, turning out the
less than aspirational, Slaang and ISSST have raised the bar - twisting their
underground parties into a modern incarnation of the acid-house warehouse party
of old for a new, non-stop, ever-demanding generation.
Maintaining the mandatory talent over
hype policy, for New Years Eve 2007 Slaang and ISSST brings together a genuinely
exciting clash between the freshest, most raw talent in the worlds of rave and
rock.

PARA ONE
To cap an amazing year we had to bring
back the very best we'd seen... Para One. The
brightest star from Institube's French trendustry and the coolest muthaf**ker
to have ever played in London.
In March this year Para One single-handedly instigated unbridled warehouse
carnage.
SH*TDISCO
We've been trying to get
Sh*tdisco for a long time. They've been at the top of the Slaang hit list since
the beginning of the year, but theyve been busy performing with friends and
peers like Prodigy, Digitalism, and Yusek at clubs and festivals worldwide.
Theyre angry disco-funk, stomps all over the art-dance-rock opposition. For
NYE they've set the agenda; It's all about being out, wasted and not
particularly elegant.
JAMIE JONES
It's no surprise that Jamie
Jones has been hailed as the future of UK techno. Jamie Jones is head and
shoulders above most on the electronic circuit. Earlier in the year we ended up
at a party where Jamie was playing... it was without doubt one of the best
electronic sets we'd heard all year; With a series of future classics on a
selection of the worlds most revered electronic labels including Crosstown
Rebels, Get Physical and Cocoon, Jamie Jones is the perfect choice to help
ISSST celebrate the dawn of 2008.
THE INFADELS
We met the Infadels whilst
playing at the same night in Leeds. The
following night they gatecrashed Slaang Part Two, drank lots and played an
impromptu last set. We had a killer line-up on that night, including Kissy Sell
Out, Jesse Rose and Padded Cell live, but it was the Infadels that rocked the
crowd the hardest. Sweaty, noisy and reckless affair the qualities that have
given the Infadels cult status.
KEVIN GRIFFITHS /
BOBBY M
Naturally, no ISSST or Slaang
party would be complete without sets from partners in all ISSST and Slaang
crime, Kevin Griffiths and Bobby M. King of
Tsuba,
Kevin Griffiths keeps the electronic balance in check
skipping
the acid house spectrum covering electro, techno, deep house, minimal, italo
whilst the noisier half of
Bobby M's musical split personality will be
charging headlong into the ISSST vs Slaang arena wielding an arsenal of ballsy,
acid-house rave - mangling trashy layers of disco punk and brutal,
futuristic electrock.
Slaang's anomalous, one-off parties have sparked a freakish
collision between the heroes or rave and rock, the avant-garde leaders of indie
and electro and an edgy and like-minded, dontgiveaf**k crowd; Capturing the
imagination of a rave-hungry generation, leading Slaang to become the bleeding
edge, the joie de vivre of today's scene - with a nod to our acid house past,
but both feet firmly in the future.
A stylised dream concocted of pushing
boundaries and bending genres - the intense and adventurous revellers mixing
reckless thrift-store chic, indecently alternative yet still beautifully
glamorous, audaciously misbehaving with near cultural icons in the form of
Kissy Sell Out, Para One, Jesse Rose (Get Physical), Mystery Jets, The Future
Heads, Friendly Fires... impromtu surprise sets from the Infadels and more...
Slaang has taken clubbing back to what it should be. No attitude, no frills, no
trouble - just people out for a good time with cutting edge music. A modern
acid-house pedigree that simply cannot be manufactured.
Meanwhile,
ISSST has forged
ahead via a viral assault on the capital, uncovering the champions of future
music together with the leaders of the electronic world to its sell out London
parties, from last year's off the rails NYE party with Tiefschwarz, Simian
Mobile Disco and Klaxons, to Digitalism, Black Strobe's memorable warehouse
live show, Herve (Speakerjunk) in a car park, Shonky, Franz & Shape, Trevor
Jackson.
Slaang and ISSST have become more than
pervasive, a downturn in clubland, a national smoking ban, clamp downs by the
authorities... all unable to wither the sell-out Slaang and ISSST warehouse
parties.
A new era is about to be defined.
NYE 2007 ... ISSST versus
Slaang.
This party will be like no
other. Do not miss out.
