Cora and William were married on the Kingsland Road in 1956 and still remember the smell of the old citron that William proposed in. Luca believes real love doesnt exist and its all about money and chemistry. Kate bought a house with her fiancée only to split up a few months later but still has expectations for Valentines Day and Imke simply loves the quickstep. Based on verbatim interviews with individuals living on the Kingsland Road this show interlinks the personal love stories that unite the East London community.
Look Left Look Right is an award winning site-specific documentary theatre company making vivid, dynamic, and interactive theatre inspired by and about the contemporary world. Since being founded in 2005 by Artistic Director Mimi Poskitt, the company has received funding from ACE, successfully toured their work nationally and won two Fringe First Awards (The Caravan, 2008 and You Once Said Yes, 2011) and a Total Thatre Award for Innovation and Experimentation. The company has co-produced with The Royal Court, The Roundhouse, BAC, Plymouth Theatre Royal and Southampton Nuffield.
