Alternative Christmas: Meet me under the mistletoe
Rich Mix continues Snapshots - a bite-sized festival in 13 parts celebrating East London in its Olympic year.
Snapshots is a showcase of the flavours, feelings and fashions that make East London the place it is; a smattering of family-friendly, free exhibitions, workshops, performances and film; an arena for diversity, debate and disagreement; an opportunity to look back in time as well as a platform for the young and talented; a market-place, a melting pot, and a meeting-place.

Rich Mix are proud to present an exciting new exhibition exploring notions of tradition and forgotten memories.
PROGRAMME
Snapshots Festival Day: Sat 17 Dec / 12pm - Midnight / Free
12pm - 6pm Christmas Market Stalls + Mulled Wine and Local Treasure Trail Shopping
Last chance to get your Christmas shopping, stalls including from vintage clothes, pottery, screen prints, crafts, jewellery, cakes plus lots more.
1pm - 3pm Family Art Workshop / Create your own festive clay decorations Workshop
Join artist Murude Mehmet to make your own festive clay decorations. Children and parents will use air drying clay to create fun decorations which can be hung from a Christmas tree, placed on a table for a festive meal or simply displayed around the home!
1.30pm - 2.40pm Vanhu Vese (Everybody) Performance
Tangle present a multi-lingual celebration of The King James Bible with live jazz.
2.45pm - 5pm A Very Unmerry Hardpenny Christmas Performance
Come and join Access all Areas' Black Cab Theatre Company in the Christmas merriment where you will meet the miserable hospital manager who doesn't understand disabled people or believe in Christmas. Presented in 5 parts 2.45pm - 3pm, 3.15pm - 3.30pm, 3.45pm - 4pm, 4.45 - 5pm.
3pm onwards - DJ sets thought the day Music
3.30pm - 3.45pm, 4.30pm - 4.45pm Magic Me's Intergenerational Choir Music
5.30pm - 6pm I'm Dreaming of a Pink Christmas Performance
Inspired by the opening lines to Krystle Warren's Yuletide Carol, 'In the holidays, the lonely gays are everywhere' (written whilst strolling through bars in San Francisco's 'queer district' on Christmas Eve), award winning comedian and broadcaster Rosie Wilby investigates whether Christmas time is far from conventional if you're LGBT.
6pm - 8pm Rich Mix Community Meal Community
Free with a dish or 1 fee without a dish
Bring your favourite Christmas dish - whether this is your secret family stuffing recipe or a packet of your local supermarkets mince pies - or alternatively contribute a quid to get involved. And in true community spirit everyone and anyone can get involved - the more hands the merrier. The meal is an opportunity for people in the local area to come together, sample people's dishes and get into the festive spirit.
8pm - 8.15pm, 9.15pm - 9.30pm OneTaste Choir Music
8.40pm - 9pm, 9.45pm - 10pm ACM Choir Music
10pm - Till close - DJ's Music
