Now the team behind the worlds finest festival bring you a new event to enjoy in E1: Market Club - A rich mix of art, music and Olympic sports.
Listen to live Afro-funk and try indoor rowing at the second instalment of Market Club, the only place to be on a Sunday
Market Club is a free music, art and sport event for the leading East London Arts Centre that will brighten up your Sunday afternoon
Market Club launched last month with over 700 people attending. Many ping pong balls were lost, games and prizes were won, there were some great DJ sets from the likes of Ali B and live act Scubaroots played a lively set of swing, reggae and funk.
Things continue on 20th March with a healthy dose of Olympic sports added to the mix of art, markets, film and music. Market Club is the only place where you can watch a matinee, do some shopping, enjoy live music then try out a relay rowing challenge.
Live music comes from brilliant afrobeat funk group Benin City plus laid back Sunday sets from DJs Ross Allen, Dom Chung and Chibukus Emma.
Sundays in East London are alive from Brick Lane, Spitalfields and Columbia Rd markets get indoors with the Market Clubs mini market selling everything from books to music to a sample sale from Fenchurch. Weve also got newspapers and board games if you just want to sit down and relax.
Market Club will have Olympic sport tasters each month. As well as indoor rowing there will be two table tennis tables to enjoy up on the mezzanine. The rowing will start with a demonstration by professionals followed by a chance for the audience to join in.
