EDDY TEMPLE MORRIS- XFM's Remix guru is kicking off the year with a typical Eddy DJ Diary, twisting and turning around Europes coolest dance floors including the Big Snow Festival in Andorra, Eddys focus has been on his production/remix outfit/band, Losers. He was asked to support the Prodigy at their huge show in Milton Keynes this summer. The band didn't want to do this gig without their favourite DJ so Eddy had to leave his stage at The Secret Garden Party to rock 60,000 people Milton Keynes before coming back to play with Doorly, Example, Hybrid, Jakwob, SkisM and The Freestylers.
PUNX SOUNDCHECK - The partnership of John Taylor and Arif Salih brings together the music that shaped them and the music thats shaping their future, traversing disco and house, reggae and dubstep, electro and (old) rave, all the while sounding effortless and elegantly modern.
MIDI MIDIS- MidiMidis make original compositions using midi and 8 bit melodies from chips taken from late 70's and 80's video-game consoles.
Whilst constantly writing and recording new songs, the lads are also currently mixing their debut album with ex-Cooper Temple Clause Tom Bellamy.
MEDLAM- Medlam started djing several years ago after starting university. Formerly a drum and bass DJ, he started to incorporate dubstep into his sets as well after it exploded onto the scene a few years ago. This added a lot of depth and divertisty to his sets, giving him plenty of crossover appeal within the confines of bass music.Since starting on the decks, Medlam has gone onto play at venues and nights such as Digital Newcastle, The Gramaphone, Trouble Vision at Corsica Studios, CODE at Rhythm Factory, Dubscover & Techscover at The Rhythm Factory, 93 Feet East, Inigo Bar & Raduno to name a few, as well as recent gifs in Costa Rica, at Grenade in Ibiza and at the acclaimed Gottwood Festival in Wales.
DAFFADAM- Daffadam is one half of Soltek, a London club night which offers an antidote to the over-priced, generic parties that we're all tiring of. Recently voted in the top 5 club nights in the UK by DJMag, Daffadam has hosted as well as supported some of the most renowned and respected artists in bass music today Phaeleh, Commix, Nu:tone, Spectrasoul, Lynx, Cluekid, RacknRuin + many more.
Maintaining his ethos in showcasing some of the freshest, most forward-thinking music around, Daffadam has been involved in several production projects including remixes for Chase & Status, High Contrast and RacknRuin.
Expect to hear an innovative, energetic set with a strong emphasis on both quality and diversity that spreads across many flourishing genres ranging from Dubstep, Drum & Bass to House and Garage.
THE WORDS- Manchester 4-piece The Words release Truth & Faith on November 14th- mixing their BRMC and James influenced musical sensibilities with singer Steven Drapers frank and original vocal wit, manner and style.
The LP is Room Thirteens Album Of The Month, and the band are being supported by the likes of BBC introducing Kerrang Radio & Tasty.
The album follows several acclaimed EPs which gained airplay on 6Music from Tom Robinson, has featured in a Windows 7 promotional campaign, Playstation 3 game Vibes, as well as several independent films. Mercedes-Benz have picked the band up three times for their mixtape promotion, culminating in them playing a concert celebrating 125 years of the car giant in Stuttgart this August. The cover of the single is a picture taken at this show, in front of 40,000 people while supporting Placebo and 30 Seconds to Mars.
THE WATERMELONS- The Watermelons are a four piece indie pop band consisting of Toby Bain, Sam Salkeld, David Kelly, Matt Wagstaff formed in the south of United Kingdom back in 2009. Two years on, The Watermelons are on their way to becoming a well-established band. 2011 has been an incredibly successful year for The Watermelons. It began with a tour of Germany, playing established venues across the capital Berlin, in support of their music video entry to German MTV. Their video Dancing with the Wrong One achieved over 30,000 views within a week and rated number 4 in the download charts amongst the likes of Rihanna, The Kills and Kanye West.
ARROWS DOWN- Residing in North West London, Arrows Down has recently released his debut album 'PYRAMID' as a free download. Two follow up albums have been released in September 2011: one is a collection of acoustic songs entitled 'Billet-Doux' while the other is a concept album entitled 'I dreamt It Ended...' The band has worked with the likes of D-Code, Dice FrSH, Thermal Bear and Teflon Child. They also perfomed alongside G-FrSH on the Tinie Tempah Disc-Overy Tour and have been confirmed to return for the October/November Arena Tour.
