Lineup and Details for Algerian Independence Party ft Seeds of Creation on Fri 31st August 2012
LIVE:
***SEEDS OF CREATION*** (North African Fusion)
Seeds of Creation will hit you with the Arabic, Funk Fusion sounds and get you dancing!
Founded by legend Seddik Zebiri in, Seeds of Creation pull on the lead mans Algerian roots, well-travelled background and life experience, along with his diverse collection of fellow musicians.
The sound churned out by this seven-piece band, is irresistably danceable with an urban edge deeply steeped in North African traditional vibes.
Having previously performed at the Royal Albert Hall, Seeds of Creation brew an excellent blend of traditional Berber music fused with Afro-Blues, reggae, Jazz and raw Psychadelic sounds that will transport you from the East-end of London deep into the heart of the Sahara.
***MAGHREB SOUL SPIRIT*** (Gnawa)
Nazim, band leader, divides his time between the return of the work of his Algerian Artist predecessors, and his group Castigroove, which he founded in 2006 in Algeria. Inspired by the Chaabi music (popular algerian music), Rai music, African Rythm and slave songs from Guinea (the Gwanas) pop and reggae music ,this training is made known at concerts involving artists like Mokhtar Samba , Karim Ziad,Salif Keita, Gnawa diffusion, Djamel Laroussi, Cheb khaled etc etc.
"Maghreb Soul Spirit, This name disturbs the Arabized and the "Berbers" alike. The Arabs want me to be part of them without my Berber origin, and the Berbers blame me for not commanding their language. I find this condition infinitely amusing because they forgot that Maghreb unify both of their culture, So with my music i try to destroy the barriers which separate people to finally unite their minds, by the trends and culture "
