Lineup and details for An Evening of Carole King & James Taylor on Monday 1st November 2010
On 1st November the New Wimbledon Theatre will play host to a visual and musical extravaganza in celebration of the work of two of the most influential singer/songwriters of our time – Carole King and James Taylor.
In a friendship that has spanned four decades, they’ve each penned and performed a long string of hits including the all-time classic You’ve Got a Friend. Written by Carole and a big hit for James back in 1971, it’s just one of their many much-loved songs that feature in the not-to-be-missed show at the New Wimbledon Theatre.
The UK’s most sought-after artists on one stage!
“This isn’t another tribute-act night,” said producer Jason Salvin. “It’s so much better than that! We’ve put together a band of the best session musicians in the country, added amazing singers from the world of musical theatre and set the whole show against a backdrop of sensory graphics and lighting to sweep the audience into the emotions behind these fabulous songs.”
The artists include Bjorn Again performers Aileen McLaughlin and Jules Dodd plus top-level musicians that have worked with everyone from Petula Clark to Ben E King and Kylie Minogue to Sting.
All the hits in a night to be remembered!
Robin Scott, the show’s musical director, said:
“This is a real collaborative production, with people coming together from different creative disciplines to produce a work of art in celebration of these legendary singer-songwriters. And, of course, they’ve provided such a fantastic catalogue of songs for us to perform; we’re loving every minute of it!”
The show includes King and Taylor’s most well known songs, How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You, Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow, It’s Too Late, Fire and Rain and many more.
Tickets are on sale now from the New Wimbledon Theatre box office, telephone 0844 871 7646 or online at ambassadortickets.com.
Curtain up is at 7.30pm on Monday 1st November. Don’t miss it!
