Lineup and details for Finger in the Pie Cabaret Showcase on Sunday 4th July 2010

Finger in the Pie Cabaret presents a star-studded menagerie of Americana in celebration of Independence Day this 4th July! We’ve got musical mash-ups from the transatlantic Pistol and Jack; a homage to the A-Team from Jeu Jeu la Foille, a tribute to Las Vegas from the fantastic Cabaret Rouge; comedy from double act Clarkson and Crouch, ukulele-wielding storyteller Wendy Solomon and Timalina Givani; relationship counselling from Dr. Ana Esmith; burlesque from the beautiful Miss Bubbles and Vendetta Vain; not to mention our resident comperes – the Moustachioed Men of Mystery themselves – Moonfish Rhumba!

Finger in the Pie Cabaret Showcase is London’s largest platform for new cabaret, vaudeville and variety performers. It has launched the careers of some of London’s most famous cabaret acts including Bourgeois and Maurice, and has hosted nearly 400 different performers in the past three years. A full list of previous acts can be found at: http://www.fingerinthepie.com/Showcase/Complete_Lineup.html. Finger in the Pie has featured on Channel 5’s Generation Sex and Time Out London’s Rising Talent 2008.

Finger in the Pie Cabaret is based at London’s most famous cabaret venue, Madame Jojo’s - an intimate West End nightclub still going strong after 50 years!

Line up includes:

Comperes: Moonfish Rhumba

Brace yourselves for a baptism of waistcoats, a moustache and a slice of the divine, the sublime and the downright ridiculous. Oddball laughter makers, the Moonfish Rhumba, aka Dan Lees and Guy Combes, were Amused Moose finalists and Hackney Empire finalists 2009. This anarchic duo have rapidly become cult favourites on the comedy and cabaret circuits, adored for their unique blend of musical mayhem and off the wall comedy.

“A vision of what the '70s could have been if only they'd tried harder” - Time Out.

“A fantastic musical comedy group ... I really loved it!' - Smooth FM.

Clarkson and Crouch

As Broken Britain crumbles, join Messrs Clarkson and Crouch as they once again denounce the horrors of modern life no one else will admit.

Concerned that aliens have infiltrated the Government? Sick of wishy-washy liberals telling you werewolf marriage is okay? Wonder who - or what – your kids are talking to on Facebook?! You are not alone!

All concerned citizens and patriots should hurry along to Clarkson and Crouch’s Neighbourhood Watch. Meanwhile, lock the door and let no one in.

Health Warning: EVERYTHING IS REALLY DANGEROUS! http://www.clarksonandcrouch.com

Wendy Solomon

Ukulele-wielding storyteller Wendy Solomon sings her tragi-comic songs of life, love, the office sex pest and her hatred of Barbie dolls. Once described as “Morrissey and Lily Allen's love child” her satirical and occasionally evil rantings can't help but strike a chord.

Hurt Club

Dr. Ana Esmith, international love practitioner, offers a ten minute taster session to heal broken hearts.

It will get messy, we will sweat and swear but we will get better, not bitter. Audience participation is included.

Timalina Givani

The world renowned storyteller Timalina Givani has come all the way from the States to tell tales from her epic collection of terrifying ghost stories. Timalina is famous for her ability to create tense and exciting atmospheres … on a good day.

Victoria L’Etoile

Dorothy: our erstwhile heroine Dorothy and her little dog Toto stumble into the magical world of Oz. When Dorothy puts on those red ruby slippers, the boring world of Kansas fades away and a bright new world opens up in front of her … Victoria enchants the audience with all the talents and artistry that the best burlesquers possess.

Pistol and Jack

Heartbreaking comedy cabaret performers. Join Pistol and Jack for debauched frivolity and fun, spiked with their own special brand of mashed-up pop songs.

Cabaret Rouge

Capturing the spirit of Sin City with fabulous dance routines, breathtaking ostrich feather headdresses and dazzling outfits.

Miss Bubbles

The charismatic Miss Bubbles captivates her audience with non-stop raunchy tease. Miss Bubbles presents a titillating delight for the eyes with glitter, feathers and of course bubbles!

Jeu Jeu la Foille

An A-team themed burlesque act – just in time for July 4th and the release of the new film!

This soldier of fortune has a problem, and no one else can help. Will the plan come together? The disguise ... the van ... and possibly the best Eighties television theme tune ever written!

Vendetta Vain

Beware the Creature from the Black Lagoon! Vendetta Vain is ready to shake up the days of the drive-in as a strip-teasing, bump ‘n’ grinding, tassel twirling B-Movie Monster!
