Finger in the Pie Cabaret has launched the careers of many new burlesque acts. It has also been a test bed for new material from established acts, and allowed a whole host of debauched divas to shake out their performance cobwebs on London's most celebrated cabaret stage. Ruby Corset Cellist, singer, serial killer … a reclusive aristocrat with a penchant for Rohypnol: less ‘iron fist in a velvet glove’, more ‘Mac the Knife in a tight corset’. From the highest echelons of British Society comes a darkly comic set of beautifully gruesome songs and hilariously murderous musings. The Rise and Demise of Myra DuBois Ageing actress, socialite and all-round showgirl Myra DuBois embarks on her UK Return Tour. Emerging from recent obscurity (a caravan in Rotherham, actually) she takes to the stage with anecdotal conversation, original artwork and a bottle of gin to pull the audience through her life story. From her years in showbiz to her marriage with an artistic homosexual Jew – Myra gives it her all. But how much is truth, and how much is the result of heavy medication and booze? Cha Cha Boom Boom: Swan Fake Winner of the Whoopee Club’s 2007 Tournament of the Tease, Cha Cha Boom Boom performs ‘Swan Fake’, a feathery frolicking fairytale where a footballer’s wife wannabe gives the audience more than they bargained for after a shopping spree as she strips down to basics; unwrapping her gifts, she saves the best present till last and what a surprise awaits as she transforms from a beautiful swan into an ugly duckling ... Persephone Lewin Persephone’s act is comedy cabaret with penguin and trumpet. Featuring the prim and proper Madame Fifi, whose sidekick, the manipulative penguin Reginald, wants to be her agent in Las Vegas and persuades her to do a striptease ... involving a hosepipe, a teapot and the CanCan. Lily Saint Sin: Sexy Scientist Lily SS is feeling experimental - in the guise of the sexy scientist she will present an experiment which has unexpected results! A seemingly mild-mannered lab assistant is transformed into a dancing diva when she samples a little too much of her own chemical concoction. Candy Girl Candy Girl: An adorable slice of burlesque cheesecake - or should that be cupcake? Miss Sparkles is a girl who knows what she wants: sweets, cakes and candy. An elegant and delightfully quirky act with lashings of glitter, giant lollipops and a beautiful, classic striptease from a custom made, cupcake-covered 18" corset. Plus entertainment from table magician Kieron Kirkland and personal tarot readings by the mysterious Ms Svetlana.
