Photo Discovery Tour of London Docklands: Cutting Edge listings

The London Docklands is an area rich in maritime history that contrasts dramatically with the cutting edge architecture. Although partly on foot, we will also make use of the Docklands Light Railway (included in the cost) and explore east to west: Wapping where warehouses once smelt of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves, tea and coffee; the Victoria Docks where cranes are now silent but the Excel Exhibition Centre is giving a boost to the economy; the Thames Barrier Park with cutting edge garden display and views of the barrier across the Thames. Canary Wharf and West India Quay present a mix of warehouses and skyscrapers. The area is also a wonderful forum for sculpture.
