Theres a familiar pitter patter to each and every event blurb, the musings of many a promoter looking for sharp lead-ins to the bios of their esteemed guests.

Heres our one... Promoting a Thursday night party is hugely rewarding, but fraught with headache inducing conundrums. None more so than this month - Richie Hawtins at Village Underground, why are we even bothering? Why indeed. Well, we wont techno for an answer this month and demand that you come and sample some sexy, at-times sleazy, house grooves and disco nuggets to go with your giraffe bread. I think one of us owns a laptop so we can throw in some bleeps as well if you really want it.

Joining the Arkhive residents this month is Franklin (UK), no stranger to the Horse & Grooms turntables himself. Heres a little something we cut and pasted (weve got day jobs):

Lou Franklin grew up surrounded by the northern soul and motown music of his parents, all the while instilling in him the importance of soul in music. This fantastic introduction shaped and influenced his musical education as he progressed through rare groove infused hip -hop to jazz inflected drum and bass. Fast forward to 2012, and you can expect a varied house selection, from big bad 808 basslines and garagey 2-step beats to the most heart wrenching rhodes and keys. If youve been to any of the parties put on by Lous comrades at the Unwanted Family (theyre nice kids really) then youll know what to expect.
