Lineup and details for Festival Of The Spoken Nerd on Monday 20th February 2012
After packed out shows at the Bloomsbury Theatre and Theatre Royal Haymarket, Festival of the Spoken Nerd are back with a DIY, make-and-do new show about games and toys.
** GAME ON! **
2012 is the 50th anniversary of SpaceWar the first game designed for these newfangled computer things everyone keeps talking about. Were not just obsessing about computer games though from Rubks Cubes to Noughts and Crosses, were looking at anything we played when we were young and finding excuses to recreate it in an underground ex-toilet in Shepherds Bush.
Sonic the Hedgehog? Yes. Atari 7800? Tick. Lego Technic? Still got it.
Weve got a load of extra special treats lined up, including lego clock building, mathematical juggling, giant game of audience-controlled Pong, and Show And Tell dont forget to bring your favourite toy!
Festival of the Spoken Nerd is a night of science, comedy, music, maths, live experiments and unashamed geekiness. Its a variety show for the fearlessly inquisitive artists, scientists, comedy fans, and anyone in between hosted by three of Londons best and nerdiest performers:
Musical comedian and geek songstress Helen Arney
Stand-up mathematician and maths writer for Guardian & Telegraph Matt Parker
Blue Peter scientist and comedian Steve Mould
