Lineup and details for Chemistry London on Saturday 25th April 2009
Chemistry comes to London with a Monthly night starting April 25th at Club Colosseum.
This wicked venue has 3 rooms, the main room has a 55K EVA sound system with crystal clear sound throughout.
Fantastic lighting - Sunning 2.5 watt full colour laser - Full UV Decor - Insane live visuals - riverview chill room and bar - Friendly security
It's kinda hard to describe the night exactly, but to see it is better. Basically a fun night, good people, insane decor, live VJs... but not a full-on "psytrance only" party, not a "rave", not just a club trance event - we want everyone to come together and feel comfortable and enjoy good tunes and a great vibe.
We put on parties for the people.

In the summer of 1999 in Sydney Australia, there were not a whole lot of choices in the trance music scene. There was a night called Plastic, and its rival Sublime, which were pretty much the only places to hear any trance unless you wanted to go outdoors to the "doof" scene, which was strictly Psytrance. At the time, both had a bit of disdain for each other. Club kids didn't get why people would go out in the bush to listen to Psytrance, and the Psytrance tribe were aghast at the thought of club kids in there bright rave clothes and hair gel.
A group of people that enjoyed both these types of events decided it was time to introduce one group to the other, as well as have a party where they could find what they wanted in one event. This is how Chemistry was born.
The first Chemistry was held at The Palladium, which anyone from Sydney's old clubbing days will tell you, was both an icon of clubbing and a funky, dirty old club. But it was a well loved place, with 2 floors and a big dangerous stairway at the entrance.
At the First Chemistry, the best local Sydney DJ's were selected from both the club scene and the Psytrance scene, but there was no singular room for one type of music. The style would change with each dj change, and therefore people had to walk around, up and down stairs, in the process meeting each other. The series of Chemistry parties in Sydney actually brought a lot of club people into the psytrance scene, for many started showing up at outdoor parties when they found the "psy" people weren't all that different, they just wanted a good party too. And surprisingly a lot of psytrance people started showing up at Plastic and Sublime.
The creators of Chemistry have, since the very first event, always put in crazy décor installations, video screen walls and live VJs, had strange and wonderful performers walking through the dance floor and worked hard to create an environment where everyone felt comfortable and had a great time.
One of Chemistry's creators even went on to decorate all the major club and dance events in Sydney after promoters saw the décor at his events.
Chemistry carried on in Sydney until 2003, and became a very popular night. If you were to ask anyone that was out clubbing in those days, chances are that they went to at least one of those parties.
They then moved on to briefly to New Zealand and South East Asia, where Chemistry again started up a residency at 3 different major clubs in Manila. It was the only night of its kind there and quickly attracted a group of hardcore fans. For when people went to Chemistry once, they almost always came back.
Chemistry starts in London on April 25th at Club Colosseum and is likely to become just as popular here as it was in Sydney and Manila. The reason behind this is not only the great music but the fact that the promoters put a lot of effort into the night to create an atmosphere where people feel welcome and comfortable. Where you can dance like no one's watching, leave attitude at home and dress as you like without worrying if the door people think you are "cool" enough to be seen.
Chemistry will feature DJ's not just from London, but a mix from around the world.
There will be VJ work live form VjBaby K across 2 screens and eye twisting décor.
